Kim Kardashian Says Ye Walked Out During Her 'SNL' Monologue After She Called Him A 'Rapper'

A recent episode of the Kardashians' new Hulu reality show gives a glimpse into just how divorce proceedings between Kim Kardashian and Ye started to become so acrimnious.

In the episode of The Kardashians, Kim revealed Ye walked out of her monologue while hosting Saturday Night Live last year.


What set Ye off?

Apparently, Ye took offense to Kardashian's monologue jokes, including one in which she called him a "rapper."

Kardashian lightly ribbed her infamously controversial then husband.

She joked:

"I married the best rapper of all time."
"Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America."
"A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids."
"So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality."

Seems innocent enough, right?

Not to Ye.

On The Kardashians, Kim told her sister Kourtney that Ye was so offended by the monologue that he not only walked out of the SNL studio, but stopped speaking to her.

Kim said:

"He walked out on ‘SNL’ like mid-monologue, so I haven’t talked to him since."

She then detailed what set Ye off.

"He’s upset over the fact that I said the reason I divorced him—used the word ‘divorced’—he wished I’d said the word 'filed for divorce.'"
"And he’s upset that I also used the word 'rapper.'"
"He said, 'I’m so much more than a rapper. I can’t believe you said rapper.'"

Kim went on to say Ye's response angered her because she stuck by him through many difficult moments throughout their marriage.

She told Kourtney:

"I’ve sat there through so many speeches that have not been the most comfortable for me."
"But that was my partner and I stood by him."
"I would never embarrass him and walk out and leave."

And she gave a glimpse into the rapper's legendary ego.

"He’s so used to getting exactly what he wants."
"I’ve never seen anything like it."

Given the incredibly shocking turns their divorce has since taken, especially after Kardashian began dating SNL star Pete Davidson, Kim's revelations definitely raised eyebrows among fans of both parties on Twitter.




Kardashian said last month she's "hopeful" her relationship with Ye can become more cordial in the future.

Time will tell whether these new revelations help or hinder that endeavor.
