The Wicked star's recent cover for Vogue Japan went viral after a photoshop fail left her with six fingers on one hand—and she addressed the hilarious controversy.

Even though Wicked: For Good ended up getting shut out at the upcoming Academy Awards, things are still going well for one of the film's stars, Ariana Grande.

This week, Grande graced the cover of Vogue Japan, sharing the glamorous pictures from the spread on her Instagram page:

The Oscar-nominated actress and Grammy-winning singer gave an unusually candid glimpse into her struggles behind the scenes, sharing how she finally feels accepted as an artist and not merely a celebrity, and last year's devastating loss of her grandmother, who was one of her biggest inspirations.

However, it wasn't Grande's open and emotional interview that caught the internet's attention, but rather one particular photograph.

The eighth picture Grande shared in her Instagram post sees her standing in front of a floral still life, wearing an elegant blouse with floral embroidery and translucent white gloves.

But beneath the translucent white glove on Grande's left hand, there appeared to be six fingers, as Reddit user Jaded_Tale_7102 was quick to notice.

Jaded_Tale_7102 assumed that the extra appendage, as well as other elements of the picture, were likely a result of some irresponsible artificial intelligence, more commonly known as AI.

They questioned how Vogue could be this reckless, or why they would even feel the need to use AI at all:

"This is straight from the vogue website."
"It seems so strange that two giant super powers like Ari and Vogue would use ai for a cover shoot...."
"this seems like it is ai because theres 6 fingers and the face looks uncanny and too 'full?'"
"Also her Getty Image candids don't show her eyebrows being so symmetrical."
"Additionally, the patterning on the dress seems a bit copy and paste."

The unsettling photograph also caught the eye of the Ariana Grande Instagram fan page ourpinkwitchh, and they posted the offending photo as well as a close-up showing Grande's added digit, and asking "who’s responsible for giving Ariana 6 fingers
.":

Viewers of the post were simultaneously shocked and beside themselves with laughter:

Arguably, no one was more amused by the picture than Grande herself!

After initially remarking "holy sh*t" in reaction to ourpinkwitchh's post, Grande then took the AI mishap in stride, hinting that a sixth finger is something she's always wanted, and may come in handy down the line:

"Oh my goodness how exciting!"
"I've been saying I need some extra appendages so that I can start an album."
"Thankful for this!"

Grande's response got its own reaction, making her fans love her all the more, and perhaps earning some new ones for her cheeky and game response as well:

How a sixth finger will be of any assistance in creating an album is a bit of a mystery. At the very least, however, Grande has some juicy material for a new song.

Here's just hoping she doesn't happen to run into Inigo Montoya any time soon...

Elon Musk Shares Bizarre AI Video Of Sydney Sweeney Weeks After Making Gross Comment About Her Body

Just weeks after 54-year-old Elon Musk was called out for making a creepy, juvenile AI video about actor Sydney Sweeney's breasts, he decided to promote the use of her likeness and voice to tout how great his X AI Grok Imagine—a text-to-video feature—is at making deep fakes.

The video, originally posted by another user, featured an AI created Sweeney on a spaceship speaking about Grok videos. The original prompt didn't specify Sweeney by name, leading many to wonder if Musk had altered Grok's responses again.

Paul Dano Finally Spoke Up After Quentin Tarantino Dunked On His Acting Skills—And His Response Is Everything

Quentin Tarantino's comments late last year about the skill of some actors were rude and unnecessary, but his comments may have done all of us a favor.

Scott Bessent Dragged After Suggesting Alternative Gift Idea For Kids 'Rather Than Giving A Toy'

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was criticized for the out-of-touch suggestion that children should receive contributions to the Trump administration’s newly launched “Trump Accounts,” rather than physical gifts.

A provision in Trump’s tax legislation creates so-called “Trump Accounts,” which provide $1,000 for every newborn whose parents open an account. The funds are invested in the stock market by private firms, and the child can access the money upon turning 18.
