While dating can be fun, there are inevitably going to be some disappointing experiences thrown into the mix, simply because we're not meant to match with every other single person out there.

But there are some people who ignore dating etiquette entirely, from how they portray themselves to how they treat their dates, and take the date from something lackluster to something better suited for a TV drama or to be told around a campfire.

Lexie, or TikToker @spicycokezero, went on her first date when she 18, and now two years later, she's reflecting back on that first date and what she's learned about dating since then.

According to her, the world of dating has not treated her well. She's focused on her education, has a great group of friends, has hobbies that she's invested in, and she enjoys traveling and going to concerts. She knows who she is, and part of who she wants to be involves having a romantic partner in the future.

But her disappointing track record all started with a guy who lied about his height and insulted a restaurant that he chose.

She'd been talking to a guy for a while on Hinge when they finally decided to meet up for dinner. Because he lived an hour away, she gave him a list of restaurants she thought he'd like to choose from, and he ultimately went with the chain restaurant Chili's.

When she arrived at the restaurant, she recognized him from his Hinge profile, still sitting in his car. She messaged him that she'd arrived, and he told her he'd be inside in a few minutes after he was finished talking to a friend.

After he hung up with that friend, he dashed so quickly from his car and inside the restaurant that she'd barely opened her car door.

When she walked inside, he was already seated at a table, and he did not get up to greet her, give her a hug, or even shake her hand.

Throughout the dinner experience, he made jokes and insulting remarks about the restaurant, the food, and the service providers, despite choosing the restaurant himself.

He also frequently interrupted her and turned the attention back on himself, also insulting her appearance and her intelligence.

The pair stayed until closing time, and even then, the guy was reluctant to leave. When he finally stood, he accused her of lying on her dating profile and insisted that she must be shorter than her 5'4".

She was, in fact, 5'4", and she knew from having a good friend who is 5'7" that he was nowhere near the 5'11" he claimed. He was nearly at eye level with her, making maybe 5'5" at most.

It became very obviously that they were not interested in each other, and it was a negative enough experience for Lexie to delete the dating app.

Fellow TikTokers reassured Lexie that she was better off without that guy.

Though it may have not been the worst experience ever, it's understandable that the TikToker would feel discouraged by the experience and even second-guess if this is what she should expect from dating going forward.

But it sounds like she simply knows what she wants and who she wants to be, and there's someone out there who will understand and respect that.

Gal Gadot Had No Idea Tom Cruise Gives Fellow Celebs His Famous Holiday Cake Despite Working With Him—And Her Reaction Is Priceless

In 2008, when Diane Keaton was filming Mad Money with Katie Holmes, the pair decided to have a random contest to see who could find the most delicious cake in LA. Holmes' then-husband, Tom Cruise, agreed to judge, only for him to completely fall in love with the white chocolate coconut cake that Keaton presented.

Thus began Tom Cruise's holiday tradition that all of his connections love: the gifting of the Doan's Bakery Bundt cake, or the "Tom Cruise Cake."

Anti-Bullying Activist With Rare Genetic Condition Speaks Out After Photo Of Her Is Used To Mock Trans Women

Marfanoid-progeroid-lipodystrophy syndrome (MPL)—also called Marfan lipodystrophy syndrome (MFLS)—is an extremely rare genetic condition. It presents as a prematurely aged look caused by missing fat tissue and partial fat loss in the body.

Fewer than 10 cases of MPL were known when the syndrome was formally recognized and named as a distinct genetic condition in 2016. Before this discovery, people with the disorder were frequently misdiagnosed with Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome (NPS) or atypical Marfan syndrome.

CBS News Slammed After Publishing Controversial Headline About Dem Senate Nominee Abdul El-Sayed

CBS News is facing heavy criticism after publishing a "blatantly racist" headline about Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed that was reportedly greenlit by Bari Weiss, the organization's editor-in-chief.

CBS has experienced noticeable right wing shift after its parent company, Paramount, sought government approval for a merger with Skydance. The FCC later approved the merger and Paramount paid $16 million to settle a lawsuit brought by President Donald Trump, which critics said amounted to a payoff to secure the merger's approval.
