Florida Woman Arrested After Allegedly Leaving Her Boyfriend To Die By Zipping Him In A Suitcase
Orange County Jail

An alleged drunken night of hide-and-seek gone wrong led to the death of Jorge Torrez Jr. who was zipped inside of a suitcase by his girlfriend and forgotten over night.

Sarah Boone from Orlando, Florida was arrested on Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived at the 4700 block of Frantz Lane in Winter Park on Monday around 1 p.m. after responding to Boone's call reporting that her boyfriend was dead.

Boone told investigators that she thought it would be funny if her boyfriend got into her blue suitcase outside of her home.

Court records indicated the couple was drunk and she passed out in her bed.

By the time she woke up the next morning, she realized Torrez Jr. was still inside the suitcase.

By the time she got to him, he was unresponsive.

After discovering he was dead, Boone said she contacted her ex-husband who lived nearby, and he suggested she should call 911.

According to Click Orlando, cops discovered a laceration on the victim's lips and bruising around the eyes.

The Medical Examiner's Office additionally discovered he had scratch marks on his back among other injuries.

Boone denied having a physical altercation with Torrez Jr. prior to getting into the suitcase.

People had questions.

The Sheriff's Office said Boone gave the deputies written and verbal consent to search her phone.

They retrieved two videos, one of which showed the suitcase facing down with Torrez Jr. inside pushing in an attempt to get out.

According to court records, he can be heard yelling Boone's name from inside, saying he cannot breathe.

"I can't f**king breathe, seriously."

Boone sounded like she was laughing and taunting him in response, saying:

"Yeah that's what you do when you choke me."

In another video, Torrez Jr. continues pleading to be let out, and Boone mocks him, saying:

"That's on you. Oh, that's what I feel like when you cheat on me."
"You should probably shut the f'k up."

With another bizarre and tragic headline coming from the sunshine state, people were not surprised.

Deputies decided to arrest Boone after she gave "inconsistencies" in her statement in addition to the obtained video footage.

They wrote in a statement:

"Jorge begged Sarah repeatedly telling her he could not breathe and Sarah left him in the suitcase."
"[This] therefore proves the unlawful killing of Jorge by Sarah's actions that were imminently dangerous and demonstrated a depraved mind without regard for Jorge's life."
