Chris Hemsworth's newest role may come as a bit of a surprise to most; he's set to play pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan in a new Netflix biopic that was just announced.

The film is still being negotiated, but will reportedly cover the height of Hogan's fame, from his start in Florida through his rise to stardom in the professional wrestling world. Hogan's story is fairly unique in that he was able to leverage his wrestling fame to gain acting roles in TV and movies. He quickly became a household name, even among those who had no interest in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, which later became WWE) or World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

The man who would become Hulk Hogan was born Terry Gene Bollea in Augusta, Georgia on August 11, 1953. He rose to prominence in the professional wrestling community, eventually using that notoriety to branch out into other industries.

He had a fairly successful acting career in the 1990's, including films such as Mr. Nanny and Suburban Commando. He has also had cameo appearances in several films. Hogan Knows Best was a VH1 reality TV series that followed the daily life of Hogan, his then-wife Linda, and their children.

Hemsworth's recent notable roles include playing Thor in various MCU titles, The Huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman, and Captain Mitch Nelson in 12 Strong. He originally rose to fame as Kim Hyde in the Australian soap opera Home And Away.

The news seems to have left some on Twitter a bit lost.

Then there were some who really didn't seem overly excited at the prospect.

And then there were those who were super pumped to see it.

Whatever your thoughts on the film itself, it will definitely be interesting to see Hemsworth's transformation into Hogan.
