Apparently People Have Different Names For—And Very Strong Opinions About—These Frozen Treats

Apparently People Have Different Names For—And Very Strong Opinions About—These Frozen Treats

Spring has sprung and summer is near, which means it's time for us to stock our freezers with the most tasty frozen treats to make us feel like a kid again.

You know what I'm talking about. The frozen sticks of artificially flavored fruit juices in every color of the rainbow. Red dye 40? Yes, please!

The treats are known as Otter Pops—or more generically, freezer pops—but others remember their favorite brain-freezing delights by other names.

Twitter user @fetusleen asked people two very pressing questions:

"It's dead summer. your mom comes home from the store with THESE. what do u call these and what is the best color?"

Otter Pops, which are purportedly made from 100% real fruit juice, sit on store shelves typically at room temperature for consumers to freeze back home. The seven colors and flavors depict different cartoon characters, each with a wacky name.

These include:

Blue (blue raspberry): Louie-Bloo Raspberry, Pink (strawberry): Strawberry Short Kook, Green (lemon-lime): Sir Isaac Lime, Red (fruit punch ): Poncho Punch, Purple (grape): Alexander the Grape, Orange (orange): Little Orphan Orange.

There used to be Yellow (lemon): Rip Van Lemon, but the flavor was discontinued in the 1970s.

The tweet received over 19k likes and people shared their favorite flavors.

There are also the rejected flavors that remain in the freezer.

How do you prioritize the flavors?

While the frozen treats satisfy our sweet tooth at a pool party, not everyone has good memories of Otter Pops.

Depending on the region, some people just called them popsicles.

So, what are YOUR favorite flavors?

'South Park' Hits Back At Kristi Noem's Gripe About Show With Hilarious Profile Photo Change

South Park began its 27th season doing what they do best: skewering public figures that take themselves too seriously. The season premiere focused on MAGA Republican President Donald Trump and his alleged micropenis to the delight of old and new fans.

For the second episode, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone turned their focus to infamous puppy (and goat) killer Kristi Noem, South Dakota's former Republican Governor that Trump tapped to head up the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and oversee Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
