Woman Warns TikTok Not To Use Aquaphor In The Sun After It Acts Like 'Automatic Lip Filler'

Woman warns against using Aquaphor in the sun to prevent burns

TikToker Ava Wasula 'learned the hard way' that products like Aquaphor can actually exacerbate sun damage to skin.

With most of us increasingly on the go-go-go, we've all been guilty at one time or another of looking for an easier, faster way to do something. That's what makes the hashtag "life hacks" so popular!

But like anything else, some lifehacks simply do not work, or they're more harmful than good.

While on a mini-vacation, TikToker Ava Wasula was not aware of the harmful effects that could occur by applying Aquafor to her lips before going out in the sun for the day.

She soon discovered, however, that the Aquafor had acted as a natural lip filler, and while full and juicy lips are the "in" look right now, the way the Aquafor filled her lips was not for the best.

Rather, the plumping effect was uncomfortable, and Wasula's lips soon began to itch and peel, much like a sunburn.

To warn others about the painful effects, Wasula shared a video on TikTok, captioned, "automatic lip filler."

But in a text overlay on the video, Wasula warned:

"PSA: Don't put Aquaphor on [your] lips in the sun."

Viewers of the video were not convinced, however, eager to try the new lip filler hack.

Wasula did not back down, though, and shut the positivity down in a follow-up video.

In response to a TikToker who said her lips looked "so good," Wasula responded:

"It looks so bad... So crusty."

The second video was a series of photos of her healing lips, which looked red, brown, and burned compared to the previous video, and they were obviously peeling.

Fortunately, in the second video, more comments were supportive and confirmed Wasula's warnings.

Wasula explained in a video comment that her lips had ached all day and night while they were swelling up, and the next day, they itched terribly and began to peel. She at first made the mistake of attempting to exfoliate the peels away with damp cloths, only to discover this intensified her symptoms and led to more peeling.

She urged anyone to not repeat her first mistake of applying Aquafor before going out in the sun, but if they did, they should not repeat her second mistake of exfoliating her peeling lips. Instead, use lip balm or sunscreen before going outside, and leave agitated lips alone.

GOP Rep. Claims MTG's Resignation Could Be The First Of Many In Eye-Opening Rant

Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene—once the conspiracy theory-spewing, QAnon-embracing apple of MAGA's eye—announced on Friday her intent to resign and retire from Congress effective January 5.

In the wake of her almost 10-minute video announcement, an anonymous senior House Republican said many others in the party have also grown sick of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump and his incompetent, petty, glory-hogging administration. They cite Christian nationalist Speaker Mike Johnson as his primary enabler.
