2025 may not have been Kate Morgan's best Halloween, but it definitely had to be one of the funniest for the mom of two.
This year, the Morgan family's front yard boasted a massive, 20-foot inflatable pumpkin that even the residents of Halloweentown would envy.
The two-story decoration became an even more enviable find once it attempted to "defy gravity" on a particularly windy afternoon, which was where the hilarious chaos began at the Morgan house.
Captured on their doorbell camera footage, Morgan shared a video to her Instagram page, which began with her holding her phone to one ear and cupping her hand over the other, trying to hear her husband's responses while their behemoth of a pumpkin rolled across their driveway.
Morgan shouted against the wind:
"Ah! What do I do?!"
"What do I do about the pumpkin? Should I unplug it?! Ahh!"
But Morgan's husband didn't have time to reply as his wife took action, shouting at him to "just come home" and racing across the yard to the inflatable that was so big, she looked hopelessly small next to it, trying to grab at it to stop it.
While she was trying to stop this thing with her whole body, Morgan's four-year-old son, Leopold, ran out, shouting:
"Don't worry, Mom! I'm going to help!"
But just as quickly, a massive gust of wind blew through, scaring the little boy, and he shrieked before running back inside.
Later, Morgan's seven-year-old son, Lennon, tried to help, too, in the form of Halloween shrieks and frights.
In the meantime, Chris Morgan's voice could periodically be heard through the wind, trying to instruct his family to unplug the pumpkin, so it could deflate and stop rolling, but his sound advice was lost in the gusts.
Morgan eventually figured it out, putting a storybook ending on the chaos. She managed to grab just enough of the pumpkin material to sit on, so it wouldn't be lifted away as it deflated.
And as if this wasn't already something that Morgan would remember forever, her seven-year-old broke out his iPad and offered:
"Let me just take a picture of you!"

Reflecting on the incident with People, Kate Morgan laughed:
"We definitely panicked."
"I thought, this thing is going to take down our entire neighborhood, the elderly, everyone! That pumpkin is taller than our house!"
"For a nanosecond, I actually lifted off. I looked at the kids and said, 'If I take off into the sky, call Grandma!'"
You can watch the video here:
Fellow Instagrammers were left tickled and cackling like witches over the doorbell cam footage.

This is one of those hilarious stories that could easily be relived year after year, making the mom and the inflatable pumpkin the stuff of legend.
Depending on the quality of Lennon's iPad photos, one of those bad boys should be blown up, framed, and hung above the family couch as a central Halloween decoration. What a sight that would be!
FBI Director Kash Patel lashed out at the "pathetic reports" that he used a government jet to fly to watch his 26-year-old girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, perform at a wrestling event, saying that "going after the people doing great work, my personal life, or those around me is a total disgrace."
Patel insisted the reports were an attempt to smear the “rock-solid conservative” Wilkins, whom he referred to as "a patriot." However, as a community note below his post on X also pointed out, the crux of the scandal is his use of government funds rather than his own to attend Wilkins' performances.
The news of Patel's use of the government jet also comes as news outlets reported that Patel fired a longtime FBI employee who was head of the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group, which is responsible for managing major security threats and overseeing the agency’s fleet of aircraft.
Patel wrote that he is "proud of the work of this FBI. We’re taking violent criminals off the streets in record numbers, crushing the fentanyl crisis, dismantling cartels, saving children, hunting down terrorists — and so much more." But, he added, "we will not be distracted by baseless rumors or the noise from uninformed internet anarchists and the fake news."
He added:
"I’ve always said — criticize me all you want. But going after the people doing great work, my personal life, or those around me is a total disgrace."
"The disgustingly baseless attacks against Alexis — a true patriot and the woman I’m proud to call my partner in life — are beyond pathetic. She is a rock-solid conservative and a country music sensation who has done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes. I’m so blessed she’s in my life."
"Attacking her isn’t just wrong — it’s cowardly and jeopardizes our safety. My love of family will always be my cornerstone, and you will never tear that down or keep me from them."
"I and this FBI will stay laser-focused on our mission and continue the reform we promised — rebuilding this Bureau from the ground up. And to our supposed allies staying silent — your silence is louder than the clickbait haters."
You can see his post below.
At no point did Patel address the report, first published by The Bulwark, alleging that he used a government jet to attend his partner’s performance. Nor did he mention reports that Steven Palmer—the FBI veteran he'd fired—was forced out after Patel grew frustrated over the intense media scrutiny.
He was swiftly criticized.
Bloomberg Law, which first reported the story, said three unnamed sources expressed disbelief over Palmer’s dismissal, noting that Patel’s flight schedules were fully public and could easily be tracked online.
Publicly available flight logs from FlightAware show that Patel’s government jet, N708JH, landed near Penn State University on October 25. That same evening, Wilkins performed at a Real American Freestyle wrestling event, and later that night the FBI plane flew to Nashville, where Wilkins lives.
As of Sunday, flight records for N708JH had been blocked from public view on FlightAware. A search for the aircraft now returns a notice saying it is “not available for public tracking per request from the owner/operator.”
Wonder Woman is a character that has spanned generations of fans, and she's a perennial choice for a Halloween costume every year, as the outfit is iconic enough to purchase or create by yourself.
Every year, you can see Wonder Women of all ages and backgrounds, including dog or cats.
This year's most famous person to don the costume and hold the Lasso of Truth? Sabrina Carpenter—who then almost immediately came under fire for keeping her usual blonde hair color while wearing the Wonder Woman costume.
The American singer-songwriter and actor, known for her TV work in Girl Meets World, her role in Mean Girls on Broadway, and her musical career, usually has a great costume, earning the moniker of "Sabrina-ween" for this habit.
Last year included Tinkerbell and a Playboy Bunny; this year she went for the iconic Wonder Woman outfit, albeit remaining blonde.
Who should come to her defense as a blonde Wonder Woman? The original Wonder Woman herself, actor Lynda Carter. She posted on X about the inclusivity of the character beyond its silver-screen beginnings and defended Carpenter's choice.
Folks agreed with Carpenter's "big tent" approach to the Wonder Woman costume, saying that it's more about the character of the person wearing the outfit than any physical attribute.
Some people were just there for the actual costume—with props!—that Carpenter was wearing.
Some remembered the canonical blonde Wonder Woman. Cassandra Sandmark, a character whose parents were Zeus and an archaeologist, took on the mantle of the character in a later season of the show.
Some people found images of Lynda Carter in Wonder Woman alternative costume—with blonde hair.
People who weren't even DC fans came out to support Carpenter's costume choice.
Some even reminisced about how long this exact argument had been going on in their own lives.
Wonder Woman is more than a costume, but rather a fan community.
Carpenter was recently a headlining act at Austin City Limits musical festival in October 2025.
Model Winnie Harlow is under fire for a controversial Halloween costume depicting one of Whitney Houston's lowest moments—or highest, depending on who you ask.
Harlow is firmly in the latter camp. But many Houston fans online are furious, even after Harlow explained that her intent was to honor the music legend, not mock her.
For her costume, Harlow chose to recreate Houston's appearance at the 2001 BET Awards, a moment that generated tons of speculation about Houston's drug use, which she subsequently admitted to the following year.
Everything about Houston's speech at the podium was dissected at the time, from her rail-thin appearance and profuse sweating to her erratic demeanor.
The clip of Houston's speech has long been a meme as well, because whatever may have underpinned it, it is inarguably funny.
Houston's zany take on an acceptance speech had the crowd at the BET Awards guffawing too, especially the moment when she responded to someone calling out to her from the crowd by quoting the Snoop Dogg song "Lay Low."
- YouTubeyoutu.be
Harlow faithfully recreated every aspect of Houston's speech, from her costume, which is nearly an exact dupe of Houston's own slightly disheveled look, to her mannerisms and facial expressions.
And that, for many people, was precisely the problem.
Because it's hard to argue that Houston's BET appearance wasn't one of the lower points of her career that in hindsight seemed to have been the first chapter in her long decline.
The following year, Houston responded to the scrutiny by admitting to using alcohol, marijuana and cocaine in the infamous interview in which she told Diane Sawyer "crack is whack" and "I want to see the receipts" proving she had ever purchased the drug (and sparking an internet catchphrase that exists to this day in the process).

That interview did little to quell the speculation, nor did the Bravo reality show about her husband, Being Bobby Brown, which all but confirmed the couple's, and especially Houston's, problems with drugs when it debuted in 2005.
Along the way, Houston's voice appeared to have become severely damaged, with long-term drug use said to be among the causes.
She staged a comeback with the 2009 album I Look To You, but it would be her last. Houston passed away in 2012 of an accidental drowning at the Beverly Hilton, which was attributed to a combination of heart disease and cocaine use.
Harlow's costume, which recreated the moment when it became unavoidably clear that Houston was in trouble, struck many as insensitive, with fans criticizing her for choosing one of Houston's low points instead of her innumerable career and creative highs.
Harlow, however, had a very different take.
In an Instagram Story, she explained at length what Houston means to her and especially her mother, who is such a diehard fan of the singer she named Harlow after her.
Harlow wrote that she didn't see the BET Awards appearance as a nadir of Houston's but rather an example of Houston's beloved personality.
"That clip has always been one of my favorites. She was radiant, funny, confident, and captivating. She was being awarded."
"The way she moved across that stage with flair and swag? Iconic."

Harlow went on to say:
"People are more than headlines. A woman who could command a room, make you laugh & carry herself like royalty."
"If all you see when you see Whitney are her struggles, you're missing her charisma, humor, talent, personality, & wit. She was hilarious & magnetic."
"THAT is and what should always be highlighted. The light that made us all love her attention to positivity."
On social media, many sided with Harlow after her explanation and felt those angry about it were being too sensitive.
But others felt Harlow's response rang hollow.
Whether this costume was a misstep or not, Harlow's love of Houston is clear. She also recreated several of Houston's other iconic moments in other Halloween costumes this year, none of which were controversial.
President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he asserted during a 60 Minutes interview with Norah O'Donnell that he's "much better-looking" than New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani—a claim that not a soul is taking seriously.
Trump isn't exactly known to be a looker but he has nonetheless declared himself a "perfect physical specimen" and boasted about his physical prowess, once noting that his own White House physician had declared him "healthier than Obama"—despite Trump's distaste for exercise and fondness for fast food.
He spoke as New York City residents prepare to go to the polls to elect their next mayor; Mamdani is ahead of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, whom Trump endorsed.
Trump—he of the orange face and ill-fitting suits—referred to Mamdani as a "communist" and said the following when O'Donnell asked for his thoughts on people who've suggested Mamdani is a "charismatic" left-wing version of him:
"Well, I think I'm a much better-looking person, right?"
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Considering the 34-year-old Mamdani's suave and polished public image, people could not believe what they were hearing.
Trump has previously derided Mamdani as a "communist" and said Mamdani must "do the right thing" should he win the mayoralty, or risk losing federal funding. Trump said "whoever's mayor of New York is going to have to behave themselves or the federal government is coming down very tough on them financially."
Trump also went so far as to criticize Mamdani for his "terrible" looks and "grating" voice, adding that "we’ve had Radical Lefties before, but this is getting a little ridiculous."
Mamdani dismissed these attacks, saying he's "had to start to get used to the fact that the president will talk about how I look, how I sound, where I'm from, who I am, ultimately, because he wants to distract from what I'm fighting for."
