Couple Goes $100k In Debt After Filing For Divorce Only To Get Back Together And Renew Their Vows

Weddings can be notoriously expensive, but so can divorce.

Indeed, after getting married, filing for divorce (twice) and then reconciling and renewing their vows, TikToker Brittany Jade—who uses the handle @brittanyjade___ on TikTok—revealed she and her husband acquired $100 thousand in debt.

Yet neither Brittany nor her husband seem to be terribly concerned by the staggering amount, as evidenced by two TikTok videos in which Brittany and her husband seemed to poke fun at the whole experience.

The first video's caption set the lighthearted, if somewhat biting tone of the content of both videos.

"Our happily ever after is paying off a divorce we never got."
"But for the record, We ALMOST have (my side) of it paid off!"

Our happily ever after is paying off a divorce we never got. 😆❤️ But for the record, We ALMOST have (my side) of it paid off! 👏😊

The 8-second video began with Brittany slumping over, with "wanted a divorce" seen in the overlay above her.

Her husband followed suit, with his overlay reading "Didn't want a divorce, but filed 1st anyway."

Brittany and her husband then chest bumped at the video's conclusion, with the final overlay revealing where they currently stand.

"Married but $100K in debt."

The majority of the video’s 6.7 million viewers expressed their joy in Brittany and her husband finding a way to make their marriage work out, in spite of the considerable debt.

One TikToker just couldn't contain her curiosity and asked Brittany how her almost-divorce ended up being so costly, to which Brittany gave an honest and open answer.

Brittany later posted a follow up video which, according to its caption and overlay, was taken after their vow renewal ceremony.

Brittany could be seen in the video wearing a white, wedding-like gown, and her husband a maroon suit.

"Excuse my makeup, I was crying all night."
"(lol KIDDING!! We had thee BEST day. & yes, I had 2 dresses, duh!)"

Using the Taylor Swift song "Enchanted" as it's soundtrack, the video began with Brittany and her husband both sullenly walking into the frame, until Brittany removes her veil and the two start romantically dancing together.

Their emotional journey seemed to be summed up in the 15-second video's overlay.

"When you literally just renewed your vows, but you've also filed for divorce (twice) before."

Racking up over 10 million views, Brittany's followers were touched and overjoyed for what appears to be a happy ending for her and her husband.

When one inquisitive TikToker asked Brittany if their vow renewal was on the same day as their earlier anniversary, Brittany responded in great detail, including more information on their near divorce.

Indeed, the triumph of love is always worth celebrating.

Just a shame their financial situation needed to take such a beating.

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's hypocrisy after Noem responded to the murder of 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minneapolis by claiming that protesters who show up with firearms aren't "peaceful."

Calls for an investigation have intensified from across the political spectrum after analysis of multiple videos showed ICE officers removing a handgun from Pretti—whom authorities said was permitted to carry but was not handling—before fatally shooting him.
