Gal Gadot Had No Idea Tom Cruise Gives Fellow Celebs His Famous Holiday Cake Despite Working With Him—And Her Reaction Is Priceless

While appearing as a guest on the Armchair Expert podcast, Gal Gadot was surprised to learn that her former Knight and Day costar Tom Cruise famously gifts fellow Hollywood celebrities a special cake every holiday season.

In 2008, when Diane Keaton was filming Mad Money with Katie Holmes, the pair decided to have a random contest to see who could find the most delicious cake in LA. Holmes' then-husband, Tom Cruise, agreed to judge, only for him to completely fall in love with the white chocolate coconut cake that Keaton presented.

Thus began Tom Cruise's holiday tradition that all of his connections love: the gifting of the Doan's Bakery Bundt cake, or the "Tom Cruise Cake."

Allegedly, it's not exactly Mission: Impossible to get on the "cake list," either. Most of Cruise's costars receive the cake each year, and even some editors at major publications.

Every December, Cruise places the order through his business, Odin Productions. Once the many cakes are ready, his team collects them, wraps them in gold and white, topped with a personalized note and jeweled ornament, typically a reindeer, and delivers them in time for the many people on Cruise's list to enjoy the cake during the holiday season.

So, while guest-starring on the Armchair Expert Podcast with Dax Shepard, everyone was surprised to discover that Gal Gadot had not made the Cake List.

In 2010, shortly after Cruise's cake-gifting tradition began, Gadot costarred in Knight and Day. She claimed to have a small part and only filmed with Cruise for one night.

During that evening, however, Cruise took an interest in her and asked about her heritage and family history. He asked many questions about her grandfather in particular, to the point that, years later, after filming Wonder Woman, both actors were at a party, and she was surprised when he remembered her, greeted her, and even inquired about her grandfather.

However, while talking with Shepard, the question of whether she'd ever received a cake from Cruise came up, and Gadot could not have been more confused.

Gadot asked:

"What cake? He makes cakes?"

After hearing an explanation of the tradition, Gadot insisted it was fine:

"Well, I worked with him for one night."
"Tom, it's fine. It's okay; I can take it."
"I don't like cakes. I don't like cakes."
"It's fine; I like chocolates!"

Viewers were surprised to hear that Gadot didn't even know about Cruise's tradition, let alone not being on the list.

It's pretty surprising to hear that Gadot hasn't at least heard about this tradition, but with the connection she's already had with Cruise, through Knight and Day and their follow-up conversation, it wouldn't be surprising if she eventually receives a cake... or at least the chocolates she said she loved on the podcast!
