A teacher investigated the ominous sounds of scratching coming from one of the backpacks in a grade school classroom while the young students were away in gym class.

She was shook after discovering the source of the noise was a little turtle a student brought to school.

TikToker @lifeisbetterlaughingg posted a clip of her going through the cabinet full of the kids' belongings and stumbling upon the helpless pet.

The text overlay in the viral clip read:

“While the kids were at gym, my co-teacher and I were working silently on computers."
“We heard scratching sounds over and over so we had to investigate all the backpacks."

In the clip, one of the women was heard saying:

“I think it’s a live turtle. Look in the back part of his backpack."

The teacher tasked with the investigation exclaimed, "no!" after finding the turtle hidden in one of the pockets of the backpack.

Laughter ensued as the camera zoomed in on the turtle, and the woman filming commented:

"The poor thing. Why is it in there? Oh my god! What do we do?”

Another teacher–who heard about the turtle from the little boy who talked about his pet for "about half an hour"–reached in the bag and rescued the reptile from its trappings and put it in a container.

TikTokers had plenty to say over the amusing find.

Democratic Rep. Perfectly Calls Out Hypocrisy Of Trump's 'Department Of War' Rebrand

California Democratic Representative Sara Jacobs called out the hypocrisy of President Donald Trump's "Department of War" rebrand after news outlets reported that it's merely a "secondary title" for the Department of Defense (DOD) and not a legal name change.

The department is only being given alternate labels, which is a symbolic rebrand more than anything substantive. The official name will remain the same unless Congress passes a law to change it.

Italian reporter sparks backlash

Federica Polidoro attempted to clean up her mess after the After the Hunt press junket with Andrew Garfield, Julia Roberts, and Ayo Edebiri went viral for all the wrong reasons.

The Italian journalist drew backlash after explicitly excluding Edebiri from a question about the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements—two movements rooted in women’s voices and racial justice, a.k.a. exactly the communities Edebiri belongs to.
