'Star Trek 4' Has Reportedly Lost Not One But Two Hollywood Chrises, Putting The Movie's Future In Jeopardy

Attention all Star Trek fans! Star Trek 4 just might be in for a major plot twist.

Chris Pine has played the captain of the USS Enterprise for three Star Trek films.

Most recently, Chris Hemsworth made a cameo appearance as Chris Pine's father, George Kirk, in the 2009 Star Trek reboot. He was slated to have a larger role in the upcoming fourth installment.

But the latest rumor is that both Chrises, imbued with their DC and Marvel glory, can no longer be afforded by the Star Trek franchise.

It's no wonder with Star Trek: Beyond grossing less than $350 million while Pine's Wonder Woman film, in which he plays Gal Gadot's love interest, Steve Trevor, grossed over $820 million and Hemsworth's latest Thor film eclipsed $850 million.

Apparently, Paramount and Skydance are withdrawing from agreements, and presumably salaries, that had been previously established.

Without Hemsworth, and especially Pine, the film's future is questionable.

Some think it's a good opportunity for a new angle.

But mostly, people can't imagine the film without at least one Chris.

Either way, it looks like Paramount and Skydance will go "where no [Star Trek film] has gone before."

Trump made headlines this week after admonishing Israel and Iran for violating a ceasefire agreement he'd announced on Truth Social. Although he claimed the ceasefire had been "agreed upon," Iran fired at least six missile barrages at Israel after it was supposed to take effect.

State Department Slammed After Requiring Visa Applicants To Make All Social Media Posts Public For Vetting

The State Department is facing harsh criticism after it announced that anyone applying for an F, M, or J nonimmigrant visa will need to disclose all social media profiles from the last five years, requiring that all applicants set their posts to public so they can be properly vetted by its agents.

The agency said the new rules are part of a new screening process aimed at identifying individuals who may pose a threat to U.S. national security. According to the department, failure to comply could result in a denial, and consular officers have been instructed to flag signs of “hostility” toward the U.S.—though the criteria for such determinations remain vague.
