But why was Snoop Dogg there?

He addressed the curiosity during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, explaining that while he wasn't part of the Oppenheimer cast—but can you imagine if he was?—he happened to be at the same party that night.

The rapper, expressing his admiration for the cast, director, and actors, revealed that he was asked to join the photo.

You can hear what he said in the video below.

He said:

"Nah, I wasn’t in the movie. I happened to be at that party that night. I’m a fan of the majority of the cast, the director, the actors and they asked me to be in the picture. They said ‘We can’t take the picture unless Snoop Dogg is in it’ and I’m like ‘Alright.’"

Snoop Dogg shared his positive thoughts about Oppenheimer, praising the film and expressing his enjoyment of the entire storyline.

Although he watched the film at home through a screener, Snoop Dogg emphasized his respect for the director, actors, and the movie's narrative by watching it in its entirety:

"I loved [Oppenheimer]. It was a long movie, but I loved it… I can’t watch it in pieces, I gotta respect the director, the actors, the whole storyline and let it get to where it need to get to."

It was a cute story—and people loved every bit of it.

Oppenheimer has emerged as a strong contender for the 2024 Oscars, securing an impressive 13 Academy Award nominations. The film previously earned eight awards at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, including Best Picture, and clinched five Golden Globes.

Actor Cillian Murphy, who played the titular character, is the favorite to win the Best Actor Oscar. His co-star Robert Downey Jr., who played the adverserial government official Lewis Strauss, is likely to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar after winning key precursors, including the Golden Globe.
