TikTokers Spark Debate By Making Server Play Game Of Chance To Determine How Much Their Tip Is

TikTokers Spark Debate By Making Server Play Game Of Chance To Determine How Much Their Tip Is

There's a social consensus that you can learn everything you need to know about a person based on how they treat people who work in the service industry.

Whether it's servers at a restaurant, employees at a grocery store or nurse's aides at the hospital, some people are wildly respectful while others are incredibly rude.

Two TikTokers may have believed the game they were about to play with a server was a form of a good deed, but their audience was less than impressed after they watched a server forced to choose her own tip "Russian-roulette" style.

The pair instructed a server to face away from the table with her hands behind her back while they placed folded bills on the table edge. She was then instructed the step back and choose a bill without looking.

Whether she selected the $1 or $50 bill, that would have been her tip.

Blessed a nice lady today

The video sparked tremendous controversy on the app, ranging from calling the game unnecessary to degrading to aggressive.

Some TikTokers found the game to be incredibly degrading.

Someone claiming to be the server involved chimed in.

She claimed to not have a problem with the game.

It's great to see the alleged server involved thought this was a fun experience to have on a slow evening in her restaurant, but the rest of TikTok was not convinced.

Some suspected that her fun stemmed from the fact that she had managed to choose the largest bill on the table. If she had chosen the $1 bill, would she have felt differently?

Regardless of monetary value, fellow TikTokers didn't see this game as valuable in the service industry. During a busier shift, a game like this would steal time and attention away from the server, making it harder to properly serve all of their tables and earn more tips.

Others were more concerned by the couple's desire for social media clout.

The kindest actions typically are the ones we do out of the goodness of our hearts, without a camera in sight.

Trump Ripped After Forcing National Parks To Drop Free Entry On MLK Day And Juneteenth For Infuriating Reason

President Donald Trump was criticized after the National Park Service announced it will be dropping Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth for next year's calendar of free-entry days and adding Trump's birthday, which happens to fall on Flag Day, on June 14.

Last month, the Department of the Interior unveiled changes to what it now calls its “resident-only patriotic fee-free days,” expanding the calendar to include new dates like the Fourth of July weekend and President Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday, while dropping others that had honored the department itself, including the Bureau of Land Management’s anniversary.
