When famous people get married, there is sure to be plenty of coverage of the nuptials, but this week a truly bizarre article (that has now been deleted) appeared on The Cut entitled:
Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's Love for Real?
In the article writer, Mariah Smith, appears to cherry pick her way through Chopra and Jonas' relationship in order to come to some twisted conclusions painting Chopra in a negative light as a "global scam artist" and imagining Jonas as a wide-eyed victim, who entered the marriage "against his will".
The article had barely hit the internet when the backlash swept in.
The piece was referred to as racist, sexist, xenophobic and according to Sophie Turner, Chopra and Jonas' future sister-in law, straight up "bullshit."
An excerpt from the article reads:

People also took issue with the way The Cut handled the backlash:
first altering the piece and then dumping it all together with little explanation.
On the The Cut page it reads:
"Last night, the Cut published a post about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's relationship that shouldn't have gone up. We've received dozens of messages from readers expressing their anger."
"We want you to know that we hear you and we're sorry. The whole piece missed the mark. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement. This was a mistake, and we apologize to our readers and to Priyanka and Nick."
There was much confusion as to the point of the article.
And there were some choice words for the writer.
Now there is some advice we can all take.
