The actor told fans he's on board with playing Simmons, and has been 'trying to make it happen.'

Fans have been rallying for Pauly Shore to play Richard Simmons in a biopic, and the actor has finally spoken.

And he's totally on board.

Shore took to Instagram to respond to fans calling for him to play the iconic at-home fitness guru, vowing he has been "trying to make it happen."

He wrote:

"I’ve noticed all the reactions to me playing #RichardSimmons in a new biopic."
"So I reached out to him. I heard he’s living deep in Big Bear. We’ve been playing phone tag (yes, he still has a phone)."

Shore continued, urging fans to be hopeful and to "hit up" the big dogs.

"I’m trying to make it happen for you guys. Be optimistic."
"In the meantime, hit up @hulu @amazonstudios @disneyplus @hbo and all the big producers. I definitely can morph into this guy. I’ll see you at the @theacademy 2025."

You can see his post below.

Simmons made his way into homes and hearts in the 1980s as host of The Richard Simmons Show about health and fitness, and most notably with his Sweatin' to the Oldies workout series.

Shore even showed off his Simmons impression with a viral video back in April.

People online believe Shore would the perfect person to portray him.

Needless to say, they were ecstatic to learn their favorite Son in Law is all in.

With the exception of speaking out about TMZ's documentary Whatever Happened to Richard Simmons, the legend has been laying relatively low since 2014.

Fans were concerned for Simmons' wellbeing after viewing the documentary, but his publicist assured the New York Post:

“Richard is eternally grateful for the continuous outpouring of love and gratitude he has received from across the globe."
“He is happy, healthy and living the life he has chosen to live.”

And Simmons himself wrote:

“Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and love!”

Shore has been outspoken about wanting to get back on the big screen.

In March, he told Page Six:

“I do truly miss acting and I miss being on set…Hopefully it happens…It’s about just dreaming and hoping.”

Stay optimistic, Pauly! This is truly perfect casting.

AOC Offers Theory On Why Trump Actually Wants His Face On Passports—And Yep, That Certainly Tracks

Woman Sparks Debate After Accusing Frontier Airlines Of Kicking Her Off Flight For Being Deaf

Let this Frontier Airlines saga be a reminder to all of us that not all disabilities and needs are visible, so when a person requests accommodations, it's better to believe them.

TikToker @legallyswiftie13 posted in 2024 that, though she was in her early twenties, she discovered that she would be rapidly losing her hearing, which was discovered at a routine medical check-up. Though she could still speak and hear, it would become increasingly difficult for her to hear, especially when there were competing noises in the area.

Former GOP Senator Gets Brutal Wakeup Call After Criticizing People For Playing 'Candy Crush' Instead Of 'Making Babies'

Ben Sasse represented Nebraska in the United States Senate from 2015 to 2023. As a Midwestern moderate, the sometimes controversial Sasse was often critical of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump on social media and on the Senate floor.

At one point, the Nebraska GOP censured him because of his criticism of Trump. But Sasse, like Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins, would still vote with the majority of his party when his vote was needed to back Trump's agenda.
