After several more breaking news items about President Donald Trump and his inner circle hit in rapid succession Monday afternoon, Twitter responded as only they can: with a trending hashtag.
#ImpeachmentIsComing trended on Twitter earlier Monday as the result of three major news items:
- President Trump pressured Australia and other countries to help him discredit the Mueller investigation
- Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, was subpoenaed by Congress over his involvement
- Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was revealed to be on the July call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
People reveled in the news...
...except at the Kremlin where President Vladimir Putin reportedly wants no information about his phone calls with Trump revealed.
While some people left the Trump camp, others still defended the actions of the President and his administration.
Elsewhere though...
Subpoenas were sent by House committees overseeing different areas of the impeachment inquiry. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry would take place before a decision on a vote in the House of Representatives.
