Mitch McConnell Gets Slammed After He Accuses Nancy Pelosi of 'Setting a New Low' With Impeachment Inquiry

Ouch.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) embraces the nickname "Grim Reaper" for his refusal to bring hundreds of bills passed by the House of Representatives to the Senate floor, but there's one nickname he despises.

That nickname is now trending on Twitter: Moscow Mitch, which McConnell earned for refusing to bring election security bills to the floor.

#MoscowMitchTraitor shot up the list of trending topics in the United States after the Majority Leader appeared on the Senate floor to rebuke House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and all House Democrats for an official impeachment resolution to affirm the ongoing impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.

The House is set to vote on the resolution on Thursday after weeks of Republican allies insisting that the impeachment inquiry was illegitimate without a vote, therefore White House officials didn't have to comply with subpoenas. The GOP has since moved the goalpost yet again, now claiming that the inquiry is still illegitimate because it didn't begin with a vote.

McConnell parroted Republican sentiments on the Senate floor.

The Majority Leader said:

"[I]nstead of setting a high bar, House Democrats seem determined to set a new low."

But the American people have longer memories than McConnell believes, and they soon called him out.

Many recalled one of McConnell's lows, in which he denied President Barack Obama his constitutional right to nominate a Supreme Court Justice after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in early 2016. Moscow Mitch wouldn't even allow Obama's nominee, Merrick Garland, to be considered on the floor.

MAGA Influencer Charlie Kirk Called Out After Blaming DEI For High Death Toll In Texas Flooding Disaster

Turning Point USA founder and MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk was harshly criticized after he claimed the death toll in the flash floods that have devastated central Texas "would not have been as high if it wasn't for DEI," ridiculously suggesting that principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion were responsible.

Kirk's comments are reflective of President Donald Trump’s broader push to dismantle federal programs focused on diversity and inclusion—part of what he pledged in his inaugural address would be a campaign to stop attempts to “socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life.”
