Man Holding Kids In Underground New Mexico Compound Was Training Them To Be School Shooters

Man Holding Kids In Underground New Mexico Compound Was Training Them To Be School Shooters
KRQUE, Taos County Sheriff's Department

A disturbing possibility was brought to light in court documents filed Wednesday regarding 11 children being held by 5 adults in a compound in New Mexico.

The story begins at least 7 months ago when Siraj Wahhaj posted about his missing family members on Facebook.

Most of his missing family members were recently located in Amalia, New Mexico as a result of an FBI investigation into the disappearance of a young boy, Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj.

Authorities found all of the adults mentioned by Imam Wahhaj, including Siraj Ibn Wahhaj (Ibn Wahhaj), Abdul-Ghani's father.

Along with the 5 adults, 11 children and the body of one boy were found. Abdul-Ghani was not found amongst the living children.

They were inhabiting a squalid trailer that was buried underground and covered in plastic and tires. All of the adults and children were close to starvation, with only some potatoes and a box of rice in the trailer. They were all filthy, had no shoes, and were wearing rags.

All of the children are presumed to be the children of the women in the compound. All 5 adults were arrested and are being held without bond for 11 counts of child abuse each.

The children are now in protective custody. On Wednesday, a court document revealed that one of the children's foster parents said that Ibn Wahhaj "had trained the child in the use of an assault rifle in preparation for school shootings".

Before his arrest, Ibn Wahhaj had a brief standoff with authorities and was said to be armed with a pistol and an AR-15 magazine. A shooting range and escape tunnel were also found near the complex.

Twitter does not know what to make of the news.
