A Florida who was ejected from a car after it hit a toll booth barrier managed to survive the crash with only minor injuries.

The graphic surveillance footage from June 3 shows a white Ford slamming into a guard rail as it approached a toll booth.

A 25-year-old passenger was ejected through the windshield, landing 20 feet away. '

Amazingly, he only suffered minor cuts and bruises. He and the three other passengers were rushed to a nearby hospital and then released.

None of them suffered any major injuries.

The driver, identified by Miami's Fox13 as 23-year-old Steven Dos Santos, was reported to have been "fatigued" at the time of the crash.

Police said there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved.

The accident serves as a warning about the dangers of driving while tired, which can have the same effect as driving drunk. According to a recent AAA study, driver fatigue accounts for 10 percent of all car crashes.

"Watching this video is proof that getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while fatigued and drowsy can have dangerous, and sometimes deadly, consequences," the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles wrote on Facebook. "If you are having difficulty focusing, frequent blinking or heavy eyelids, pull over in a safe place to rest before continuing to drive."

The ejected passenger, who has not been identified, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
