Lyft Driver Kicks Woman Out Of Car After She's Relieved He's A White Guy Who 'Speaks English'

Lyft Driver Kicks Woman Out Of Car After She's Relieved He's A White Guy Who 'Speaks English'

A Lyft driver who doesn't tolerate any form of bigotry kicked a woman out of his car after she apparently made a comment suggesting her casual racism.

The driver, James W. Bode, posted a dashcam video of his interaction with a female passenger who appeared to express relief at seeing a White driver upon entering his vehicle.

Bode was thrown when the woman told him, "You're like a White guy."

When he was taken aback by her statement, she continued:

"You're like a white guy? You're like a normal guy, like you speak English?"

And just like that, her ride was over before it started.

You can see the clip, below.

Warning: expletives and use of the n-word.

No longer wanting to accommodate her, Bode turned to the woman and said, "Nah, you can get out of the car," adding:

"That's inappropriate. That's completely inappropriate."
"If somebody was not white sitting in this seat, what would be the difference?"

The woman–who Bode identified on Facebook as "Jackie"–said:

"Are you serious?"

Bode then addressed her companion, a male passenger who was about to enter the vehicle, and told him he was refusing their service.

The man responded by calling Bode a "f'king a**hole" and a "piece of sh*t."

He then threatened Bode physically, saying he will "punch him in the f'king face."

Bode casually responded, "It's all on camera, man. You're gonna threaten me? Assault?"

When the stunned woman realized they were refused service, Bode spelled it out for them without mincing words.

He told them, "You guys are racist f'ks."

As if on cue, the man outside the car showed his true colors by using a racial slur.

He then told Bode to "get the f'k out of here."

The internet applauded Bode for taking a stand against casual racism.

The clip ended with Bode rolling down the passenger side window and telling the couple he was going to call the cops.

On his Facebook post, Bode revealed the incident occurred at Fossils Last Stand, on Race Street in Catasauqua–a pub in Pennsylvania, presumably owned by the couple.

"Everyone's gonna know," said Bode, after asking if they were the owners of the establishment.

It appears the bar was subjected to bad reviews online after the clip went viral.

The repercussions from the racist display demonstrated that bigotry will get you nowhere.

Bode said he filed a police report "only because of the assault threat."

He concluded his post with:

"If you make me feel uncomfortable, I will absolutely do the same especially in my car or property."
"Yes they were made aware I was recording, yes I have postings in my car indicating such."

Lyft responded positively to Bode's handling of the unpleasant encounter with the following statement:

"We are incredibly grateful to Lyft driver @Jameswb333 for instantly shutting down this hate & upholding our no tolerance anti-discrimination policies."
"We're looking into these riders & are in touch with James to show our thanks."
