Pro-Trump Lawyer's Post Calling for Pence's Execution Just Got Him Booted From Prominent Lawyers Club

Pro-Trump Lawyer's Post Calling for Pence's Execution Just Got Him Booted From Prominent Lawyers Club

Former President Donald Trump saw no shortage of allies willing to promote his lie that the election was "stolen" from him by Democrats who coordinated widespread election fraud in now-President Joe Biden's favor.

Trump's lie was validated by some lawmakers and media personalities, but few were so extreme in deranged commitment to the claim than attorney Lin Wood.

Wood hosted erratic press conferences with fellow pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, presenting easily debunked so-called evidence of widespread election fraud and chastising Republican lawmakers for hesitating to back Trump's election lies.

Lies like the ones promoted by Wood eventually led a mob of pro-Trump extremists to storm the United States Capitol as Vice President Mike Pence oversaw the joint congressional session to nationally acknowledge Biden's victory.

For days, Trump had openly called on Pence to exercise powers unavailable to him at the joint session to unilaterally overturn the election results in states Trump lost.

When Pence wouldn't comply, Trump's supporters became enraged, erecting a gallows and chanting to "Hang Mike Pence!"

In a post on Parler that day, Lin Wood gleefully cheered the extremists on, encouraging Pence's execution by firing squad.

Pence was evacuated from the Senate floor to a secure location in the Capitol, coming within feet of the extremists in the process.

Now, Trump is out of office, and Wood is facing repercussions for his encouragement of an insurrection.

Most recently, the Georgia lawyer was kicked out of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, a near-century old institution.

The club said of Wood's removal:

"Mr. Wood's call for the summary execution of the Vice President is an attack not only on the Vice President performing his Constitutionally required obligation, but also is an attack on the rule of law and the Constitution itself."

People welcomed the consequences.

But many thought Wood was getting off easy, and that he should face complete disbarment.

Wood has been kicked off most social media platforms as well.

Sarah Jessica Parker Claps Back At Conservative Critics Who Want Her To 'Shut Up' About Politics And 'Act'

Nothing seems to get conservatives' goats quite like celebrities having political opinions—well, liberal and leftist celebrities, anyway.

They seem to love it when weird right-wing celebs like Kevin Sorbo get on the internet and say bizarre, usually counterfactual nonsense, or when JK Rowling does her darnedest to make her legacy not about Harry Potter but about her weird obsession with trans people.

Ann Coulter Faces Fierce Backlash After Saying 'We Didn't Kill Enough Indians' In Deleted Post

Far-right provocateur Ann Coulter is facing fierce criticism after she made a genocidal remark in a now-deleted post on X in response to University of Minnesota professor and Navajo Nation member Melanie Yazzie's speech about colonization.

Yazzie, in a speech at last year's annual Socialism Conference, said "decolonization is the only thing that is going to save us as a species" during a panel hosted by Red Nation, a Native American nonprofit that advocates for Palestinian and Native American rights. She also said that the United States is the "greatest predator empire that has ever existed" and said it should be dismantled.
