Kid Rock Storms Off Nashville Stage After Audience Doesn't Clap Along Hard Enough

The singer stopped mid-song to chastise the audience for not clapping along to his liking before eventually stopping the song again and storming off stage.

Music artist Kid Rock got his feelings hurt when the crowd he was playing for at a Nashville bar didn't clap along to his performance.

So he walked off stage, mid-song.

The singer's tantrum took place on Saturday as part of a birthday celebration for Jon Bon Jovi's keyboardist, David Bryan, at JBJ's Nashville, which is Bon Jovi's restaurant and music venue.

The 54-year-old MAGA supporter led the band to start playing Credence Clearwater Revival's classic song, "Proud Mary," joined by a female singer in a cowboy hat.

Halfway through the song, after he tried to get the audience to clap along, Rock interrupted the band and warned the crowd:

"Hey, hey stop. If you ain't gonna clap, we ain't gonna sing."

"That's how it's gonna work," he said.

Rock resumed performing and clapped above his head, instructing, "Don't get too fast."

"Proud Mary" traditionally starts as a bluesy mid-tempo gospel that later kicks into a rousing up-tempo number, made famous by Tina Turner's iconic rendition, which usually gets an exciting reaction from audiences.

However, before the song shifted gears, Rock was already disappointed in the crowd when they failed to match his enthusiasm, or rather, when the encouraged audience participation wasn't to the singer's liking during the slow portion of the song.

Rock said in response:

"You know what? F'k y'all. You ain't gonna clap, I'm goin'."

He subsequently left the mic stand and pushed his way through the crowd by the set of stairs behind the stage as the crowd continued awkwardly cheering.

You can watch his meltdown here.

The clip went viral, prompting many on social media to mock him for his petulance.

In all fairness…

Rock recently performed at the Make America Great Again Rally held at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. ahead of Republican President Donald Trump's inauguration last month.

The "We the People" singer made the internet cringe during inauguration festivities when he called BBC news presenter Caitríona Perry "sexy" based on her voice and asked her to go on a date with him.

He was previously under fire in 2023 when he was caught sipping a Bud Light at a Nashville bar after firing shots at a case of beer amidst the conservative backlash to the beer company's "woke" partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Trump Ripped After Forcing National Parks To Drop Free Entry On MLK Day And Juneteenth For Infuriating Reason

President Donald Trump was criticized after the National Park Service announced it will be dropping Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth for next year's calendar of free-entry days and adding Trump's birthday, which happens to fall on Flag Day, on June 14.

Last month, the Department of the Interior unveiled changes to what it now calls its “resident-only patriotic fee-free days,” expanding the calendar to include new dates like the Fourth of July weekend and President Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday, while dropping others that had honored the department itself, including the Bureau of Land Management’s anniversary.

California Democratic Representative Robert Garcia was elected in November 2022 and even before being sworn in, he was locking horns with one-time MAGA darling and Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.

For years, MTG was best known as the QAnon conspiracy theory-spewing, State of the Union heckling, crossfit hyping, Trump ride-or-dying, anti-LGBTQ+ racist MAGA minion from Georgia.
