The singer dared trolls to 'hate me harder' after her recent bikini photos on Instagram sparked a flurry of body-shaming comments.

Kesha had a strong message for those who body shamed her for the way she looked.

The 37-year-old pop singer posted pictures of herself in a black string bikini on Instagram on July 7 in response to critical remarks made on social media.

Kesha talked about her body's resilience and strength in the post.

“she’s been through a lot. she’s torn her acl on stage and finished the show. she’s held my f***ing broken heart together.”

She continued:

"to those who think you're shaming me, you're actually making me feel very powerful."

And she transformed the criticism into a source of empowerment.

“so, to you, i hope you one day feel whole enough to not tear other women down. in the mean time, hate me harder b**ch:) 💪🏻"

People wondered what on earth anyone could be shaming her for.

In a 2017 piece for Teen Vogue, Kesha reflected on her prior experiences and said that she had overcome an eating disorder. She denounced body-shaming culture and underlined the harm that nasty remarks do to one's sense of self-worth and confidence.

Kesha's newest song Joyride came out earlier this month.
