Damon was paying tribute to Clooney at the recent Kennedy Center Honors when he told the audience about an unseemly prank involving Richard Kind and a litter box.

Actor George Clooney was celebrated at the 45th annual Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C., on December 4.

Friend and costar many times over Matt Damon held the task of honoring the two-time Oscar winner for his lifetime artistic achievements.

Damon, however, spoke of Clooney's pranking achievements instead.

"It has been said that my friend George Clooney is the last of the true movie stars."
"So I got to thinking about exactly what that meant."
"Of course, a number of past Kennedy Center honorees have certainly been movie stars in that classic sense."
"Actors with class and sophistication: Cary Grant, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck."
"And then I think of George—a man who once defecated in Richard Kind's kitty litter box as a joke."

You can watch the "tribute" below.

Turns out, Damon didn't make that up.

Clooney actually recounted the prank in detail on the Smartless podcast.

According to Clooney—who was Kind's roommate at the time—Kind noticed his cat had not used the litter box to defecate in a couple of days. Clooney got inspired and decided to clean up after the cat every time it used the litter box to keep Kind wondering.

Eventually, Kind took the cat to the vet who gave the cat laxatives. Though they were very effective, Kind had no idea as Clooney continued to clean up after the cat.

Clooney finally got his big idea:

"After a couple of weeks, the light bulb goes on, and I realize what I must do - which is take a sh*t in the cat box."

Kind, however, didn't think it was too humorous.

Some users on Twitter found Clooney's prank funny.

Most, however, were Team Kind on this one.

You can watch the 45th annual Kennedy Center Honors on Wednesday, December 28th on CBS and Paramount+.

Other honorees include Amy Grant, Tania León, Gladys Knight and the band U2.

Gavin Newsom Rips Pete Hegseth For Suggesting Press Is Only Reporting On U.S. Casualties To Make Trump Look Bad

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was criticized by California Governor Gavin Newsom after Hegseth accused the press of only reporting on the negative effects of President Donald Trump's attacks on Iran.

Trump has said that the U.S. military was "knocking the crap out of Iran" but the "big wave" of attacks is still yet to come, and has not ruled out putting boots on the ground, saying the war is progressing "way ahead of schedule." Trump has urged Iranians to revolt, even as the regime reshuffles leadership following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and some of his associates.

Elmo Just Asked His Followers 'Where Have You Been?'—And Zohran Mamdani Had The Purest Response

Elmo, the furry red childlike monster from Sesame Street designed by Caroly Wilcox, began his life as a generic "baby monster" background filler in the 1979-1980 season of the long-running children's television program.

Originally having a gruff voice supplied by various puppeteers, Elmo found his falsetto-voiced, loving persona when Kevin Clash took over in 1985. Elmo was transformed into a three-and-a-half-year-old character designed to connect with the show's audience of preschoolers.
