A Flagler County, Florida woman has been arrested for distributing Easter eggs—containing pornographic images—via people's mailboxes.

The eggs also contained an assortment of other materials, including fish-shaped crackers, drink mix packets, toilet paper and religious pamphlets.

42-year-old Abril Cestoni was arrested after witnesses saw her delivering the latest batch of eggs and alerted police. Officers from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office quickly found Cestoni and discovered a bag filled with pornographic images in her vehicle.

They determined that she was distributing the eggs after she finished her shift at a nearby Publix.

Cestoni told officers that she had distributed the pamphlets for "educational purposes."

Flagler County Sheriff's Office said in a press release before Cestoni was apprehended that they were originally concerned that the distributor of the eggs could also have been spreading the virus, but said she has shown no signs of infection since she has been in custody.

The press release also contained details of the first reported eggs.

"The callers told deputies that their flag on their mailbox was in the 'up' position. When they looked inside, they found a plastic Easter egg. Inside the egg was a cracker in the shape of a fish, one sheet of toilet paper, a powdered drink mix, and a crumpled up piece of paper containing pornographic images."

Sheriff Rick Staly also commented on the case.

"The person who did this is not only a very sick individual but could actually be spreading [the virus] by their actions."
"We are working to identify the offender and put them in the Green Roof Inn [Flagler County Jail] . If anyone else receives something like this or has information on who did this, we ask that you call us immediately.

Twitter users' reactions were all over the place, but most were amused.

Cestoni shared her motivations with officers, according to her arrest report.

"Abril stated she was 'a church' and had a business license. Abril said she was conducting research on local clergy and people deserved to know the truth."

Sherrif Staly shared his thoughts on the case.

"She certainly has a bizarre almost zealous opinion of churches and what they should believe in and how they should teach the teachings of the bible."
"In my career, it's a pretty bizarre case."

Cestoni has been charged with at least 11 counts of Distributing Obscene Material, as well as violating Florida's stay-at-home order.

She is being held at Flagler County Jail on $7000 bond.
