Disgusted Guy Speaks Out After Allegedly Finding A Bunch Of Mold Growing In His Capri Sun

Disgusted Guy Speaks Out After Allegedly Finding A Bunch Of Mold Growing In His Capri Sun

We've all heard of weird discoveries with food and drink products from stores and restaurants, but most of us are lucky enough to never experience one of these weird mishaps.

Not so for Victor Marcelo Aguil, who took to TikTok after making an unfortunate discovery with one of his pre-packaged drinks.

Several days prior, Aguil had observed that a Capri Sun pouch from a box he had purchased contained mold. Concerned that more of the pouches might have the same problem, Aguil shared a TikTok video to help raise consumer awareness.

Capri Sun redesigned its product packaging back in 2014. The drinks have the same shiny, silver pouch, but with a see-through bottom.

The company's message was:

"So you can see the goodness before it's gulped."

The new packaging addressed consumer concerns, like Aguil's, about the presence of mold in their drinks.

The company wrote on their website:

"Although it's rare, it is possible for food mold to grow inside containers of preservative-free juice drinks if the pouch is compromised or punctured in any way on its journey from our facilities to your grocery stores."
"Even if the hole is microscopic and not visibly detectable, it can be exposed to air."
"The mold is naturally occurring, and we understand your concerns. That's why we created our clear bottom pouches so you can check for mold before enjoying your Capri Sun."

Consumers like Aguil are still worried years later, however, and doing what they can to ensure everyone is checking their pouches before opening and drinking them.

In the video, Aguil presented an unopened pouch with the straw still attached, and turned the drink so the bottom of the pouch was visible to the camera.

Despite the glare of the screen reflecting on the pouch, it was obvious there was something inside.

Aguil cut off the top of the pouch with a pair of scissors before tipping the opening toward the camera. There was a spiral of matter floating in the juice.

Aguil stated, disgusted:

"Do you see this f**king s**t? This is f**king bulls**t. The kids are drinking this!"

Aguil then poured the contents of the pouch into a tall glass, revealing the size of the matter floating inside.

After the video went viral, Aguil posted a follow-up video to clarify any concerns viewers had.

To his knowledge, none of the packages of Capri Sun in the box he had purchased were compromised.

He had purchased them just three days prior to filming the first video, and those drinks were placed directly in the fridge.

Aguil also checked the expiration date and noted they were not supposed to expire until 2022.

Arguably, mold should not be present, given these circumstances. Fortunately, the video continues to gain attention, which will help to remind people to check their drinks before quenching their thirst this summer.
