Amazon announced the new Alexa Skill Blueprints upgrade, and mischievous consumers are taking advantage of giving the A.I. a sassy personality.
Amazon Alexa Vice President Steve Rabuchin released a statement about the developer's latest innovation that has a slight edge over its rival assistant, Apple's Siri.
Alexa Skill Blueprints is an entirely new way for you to teach Alexa personalized skills just for you and your family. You don't need experience building skills or coding to get started—my family created our own jokes skill in a matter of minutes, and it's been a blast to interact with Alexa in a totally new and personal way.
Customization is achieved without coding through various templates on the app's website, blueprints.amazon.com.

Once there, users can give Alexa any abilities tailored to their lifestyle, whether it's helping students study for an upcoming exam, reminding your babysitter where to find things, making your house guests feel at home by offering tips around the house, or telling you a personalized joke.
Of course, this creates an opportunity for naughty users to give Alexa an unlady-like disposition.
Mashable's Raymond Wong experimented with Amazon's latest upgrade, saying, "We turned Alexa into a potty-mouthed jerk, and now the digital assistant will never be the same again."
The staff from Mashable went into the "Custom Q & A" template and had some devious fun by creating questions and answers Amazon would never consider.
The team dove in and came up with these samples:
Q: Should I order pizza for dinner tonight?
A: No, You are still on a diet for nest year.
Q: What's the best phone ever made?
A: The Amazon Fire Phone. Just kidding, that phone was complete trash.
Expletives are immediately flagged, so don't expect your humble assistant to be dropping F-bombs left and right. However, that didn't stop these guys from being creative. They chose words that closely resembled profanity.
Instead of saying "f*ck," for instance, "fug" or "fooking" were feasible substitutes.
Q: Should I buy two thousand pounds of gummy bears?
A: I don't give a fug what you want.
Q: Do you think I'm funny?
A: I don't fooking think so.
Meanwhile, Siri remains behind the competition with Apple's lack of a similar advancement. With devout Apple-users lacking the ability to make Siri talk like a jerk, Apple's assistant may be saintly for now. But it's Alexa who's having all the sinful fun.
