Dean Cain Dragged After Announcing He's Joined ICE And Claims He'll Be Sworn In 'ASAP'
Aug 08, 2025
Actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Clark Kent/Superman on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, sparked heated criticism after he took to Instagram to announce he's joined ICE to participate in the Trump administration's nationwide immigration crackdown.
Cain, who spoke as composer John Williams' iconic 1978 "Superman" theme played in the background, said he "felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it, so I joined up."
ICE has stepped up its recruitment drive, offering incentives such as signing bonuses of up to $50,000 and as much as $60,000 in student loan repayment. The Department of Homeland Security has also lifted age restrictions for new hires. And Cain—who has Japanese ancestry—was quick to point out the benefits for interested parties.
He said:
"Since President Trump took office, ICE has arrested thousands of criminals including rapists, terrorists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, you name it, very dangerous people who are no longer on the streets."
"You can defend your homeland and get great benefits, like a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment, retirement benefits, and special pay for those in the field operations and law enforcement roles."
"You also don't need an undergraduate degree. You can get to work right away. So if you wanna help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America's streets."
"I like that. I voted for that. They need your help—we need your help—to protect our homeland and our families."
You can hear what he said in the video below.
The move naturally thrilled his MAGA fans.
Cain also appeared on Fox News and spoke to host Jesse Watters about his video and decision to join what is now the nation's federal law enforcement agency, pointing to his ties to law enforcement, including serving as a reserve police officer with the Pocatello Police Department in Idaho and as a sworn sheriff’s deputy in Frederick County, Virginia.
He said:
"I've spoken to some officials over at ICE and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP so they'll have 80,001 recruits for their 10,000 positions."
When asked if he will be "jumping out of vans and arresting people," he said:
"I will do whatever [ICE Director Todd Lyons] will ask me to do. If that's what it takes, absolutely. I somehow doubt I'll be in that position but I would be there in a heartbeat. These brave men and women need someone to stand up for them."
"So rarely these days you're seeing that. ... This is the kind of thing where people should be stepping up. I'm stepping up [and] hopefully a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents will step up and we'll meet those recruitment goals immediately and we'll help protect this country."
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Cain's move was swiftly condemned.
Cain's announcement comes just days after he described Trump as "one of the most empathetic, wonderful, generous people you’ll ever meet" in an interview with Variety.
Cain also complained that the new Superman film directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel is "woke" because Superman "has to be rescued repeatedly." These words were all the more odd considering Superman has long been an allegorical avatar for the virtues of immigration.
His remarks—and fervent support for widespread immigration raids—run counter to remarks made by Gunn, who described the film as an opportunity for people to be "kinder" to each other as they experience "the story of America," a tale that is more relevant than ever considering the ongoing political turmoil in the United States.
In a statement, Tricia McLaughlin, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, confirmed that Cain "will be sworn in as an honorary ICE Officer in the coming month."

Hacker Hilariously Trolls Education Secretary With Music Choice At Right-Wing Conference
Aug 08, 2025
Education Secretary Linda McMahon was trolled by a hacker who hijacked the sound system and played circus music over remarks she gave during an appearance at a Young America’s Foundation event for conservative youth.
At one point, McMahon was cut off by audio of someone calling her a "corrupt billionaire who knows nothing about education," prompting her to look around nervously.
When asked what was “different” about serving in President Donald Trump’s second term compared with his first, McMahon said it took the president “a while” to get the White House “organized” to his liking—just as the comically iconic Julius Fučík march “Entry of the Gladiators” began playing over the sound system.
Former Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker, who hosted the event, tried to get ahead of other audio interruptions that disrupted McMahon's remarks, saying that "if liberals don't like your ideas, they shut you down." The audience clapped in response but McMahon still looked a bit off her game.
Adding insult to injury, there was even a moment when McMahon, while urging parents to get involved in their school boards, was interrupted by the theme song to Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Social media users ate it up.
McMahon, who has no experience in education whatsoever, is best known as one of the founders—along with her husband, fellow wrestling promoter Vince McMahon—of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE).
Earlier this year, she was called out for hypocrisy when paying tribute to educators during "Teacher Appreciation Week" as she honors teachers on one hand and works to dismantle the Department of Education on the other.
McMahon has also demonstrated little understanding of the cuts to the department she oversees, including federal initiatives designed to support low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities in pursuing higher education.
Nonetheless, she continues to champion the broader effort to dismantle the DOE, actions that advocates say will be a detriment to students nationwide.

Woman Goes Viral After Cramming Carry-On Luggage Into Size Checker To Prove It Fits
Aug 07, 2025
Let's be honest: traveling, and particularly flying, is very expensive these days, and it's important to save money wherever you can. A key way to save money is to book a cheaper class on the flight, and to only take a carry-on, rather than checking a bag, if you're able to.
TikToker @summermken_official shared a video of a woman who was willing to commit to that while in Paris. She approached a size-checking station for Vueling Airlines with a sign that read, "Does your cabin luggage fit here?" It was a metal frame in the shape of a rectangle, emulating the largest size that a piece of carry-on luggage could be.
The woman proceeded to set her yellow and black carry-on on top of the frame, and seeing that it would fit, she began to shove it down into the frame. Because of the black detailing on the outside of the bag that stood out a little bit, she struggled somewhat to shove it down into the checking station.
When she succeeded, she then struggled to pull the bag back up out of the metal frame, adjusting her stance to give her more power to haul it back up out of the size checker.
As she stepped away from the checking station, her face was hardened into a look of triumph and defiance, knowing that she would be taking that bag, now a little more scratched up, as a carry-on no matter what.
You can watch the video here:

Fellow TikTokers applauded the woman's stubbornness and willingness to stick it to the airline.

Flying is already terribly expensive, and sometimes, we have to come prepared, meaning more luggage and more money spent. Being able to save money by taking a bag as a carry-on instead of having to check it in can really make the difference.
It was also very clear that the bag was the appropriate size and only the external details of the bag were bulging out a little bit, making it harder for the woman to place and remove the bag in the checking area, which shouldn't impact her ability to take it as a carry-on at all.

AOC Rips Chris Cuomo's Non-Apology After He Fell For Deepfake Of Her Criticizing Sydney Sweeney
Aug 07, 2025
For anyone wondering what Chris Cuomo has been doing since being fired by CNN in 2021 amidst big brother Andrew Cuomo's sexual harassment scandal, it wasn't learning how to spot deepfakes.
Even when they're watermarked "parody 100% made with AI."
On Wednesday, Cuomo, who now works for Nexstar Media Group hosting Cuomo for NewsNation, took to X to chastise New York progressive Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) for something that never happened.
Cuomo posted an Instagram reel on X that he captioned:
"Nothing about hamas or people burning jews cars...but sweeney jeans ad? Deserved time on floor of congress? What happd to this party? Fight for small business ...not for small culture wars"
@ChrisCuomo/X
Even if Cuomo missed the watermark across the top of the video, across the bottom of the reel was the sourcing info:
"instagram.com Chat GPT Memes + Al Art (@memerunnergpt) • Instagram reel"
The reel Cuomo fell for showed a deepfake of Representative AOC speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The ridiculously over-the-top AO-faux said:
" Sydney Sweeney looks like an Aryan goddess, and the American Eagle jeans campaign is blatant Nazi propaganda."
"I mean, f*ck. Watching that sultry little temptress squeeze into a Canadian tuxedo three sizes too small with her bouncy little funbags on the screen staring at you, piercing through the core of your soul with those ocean-blue eyes that could resurrect the Führer from his grave in Argentina, is something that should alarm every American citizen because in America, beauty is not defined by Whiteness."
"Oh no, it is defined by the number of victim groups of which you are a member: skinny, attractive, blonde-haired, blue-eyed cisgender women descend from the slave daddy oppressors of this nation. And any man who cranks one out while thinking about a woman like this probably hates Black people, probably hates gay people, and they certainly hate the diversity of our great nation."
"So I say, instead of simping for the Sydneys, we should be celebrating the Shaniquas. Instead of worshipping the hot, straight blonde, what about the obese alpha? People with blue hair. They need love too. And to all the haters who say companies that go woke go broke, I’d rather be poor than a f*cking Nazi."
The caricature is so exaggerated that the main character of The Who's rock opera Tommy could tell it was fake. If you don't get that reference, Elton John's performance of "Pinball Wizard" is about Tommy, the kid that "sure plays a mean pinball."
Cuomo, a lawyer by education and a journalist by trade, remained clueless for an embarrassing amount of time (three hours) until Representative AOC commented on the post.
The no-nonsense New Yorker wrote:
"This is a deepfake dude. Please use your critical thinking skills. At this point you’re just reposting Facebook memes and calling it journalism"
In a new stand-alone post, Cuomo responded (without tagging AOC):
"You are correct...that was a deepfake (but it really does sound like you). Thank you for correcting."
"But now to the central claim: show me you calling on hamas to surrender or addressing the bombing of a car in st louis belonging to the idf american soldier?…dude?"
People felt the words Cuomo was searching for were "I'm sorry I shared obvious misinformation about you."
And that he should have just taken the L.
When Piers Morgan can rightfully call you out...
@piersmorgan/X
...it's past time to step away from the keyboard.
Which Cuomo did, so he could try to claim his blunder was really a mistake by Representative AOC on his NewsNation show...
...which got equally mocked.
@swd2/X
@NotoriusBFD/X
The MAGAsphere, including their leader Republican President Donald Trump, are desperately trying to make "liberals/Democrats attack Sydney Sweeney" a real thing.
No prominent Democratic official or lawmaker or progressive leader has commented on the American Eagle advertisements. The criticism is primarily by bipartisan trolls trying to create conflict.
So someone decided to use AI to put the words into AOC's mouth.
But why would Chris Cuomo—nepo baby of 1970s-90s Democratic powerbroker Mario Cuomo—target Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
AOC endorsed and continues to very publicly support NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. Mamdani defeated big bro Andrew Cuomo in the city's Democratic primary.
They'll face off again in November after disgraced former Governor Cuomo got on the ballot as an independent.

Fans love Pascal's clapbacks
Aug 07, 2025
America’s favorite zaddy Pedro Pascal has officially had it with the social media trolls in his comments.
Specifically, the ones obsessing over how physically close he gets to his male and female co-stars—as if basic and consensual human warmth is now suspicious behavior.
The online hate took a predictable turn after Pascal voiced his support for trans rights earlier this year, following J.K. “the ‘K’ is for Karen” Rowling’s celebratory post about the UK Supreme Court’s April ruling that restricts the legal definition of "woman" to biological sex.
Rowling, puffing a cigar like a cartoon villain, proudly posted the news to X, earning praise from TERFs and eye-rolls from everyone else:
Pascal, ever protective of his sister Lux—a transgender actress and fierce LGBTQ+ advocate who came out in 2021—wasn’t about to stay quiet.
He posted this blistering caption in response to Rowling:
“I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.”
You can see the whole post here:
If you missed Rowling’s irrational descent from children's author to anti-trans crusader, don’t worry—I got you. It all started in 2019 when she publicly defended Maya Forstater, a tax researcher fired over anti-trans tweets.
Rowling doubled down with a lengthy, misinformation-packed essay in 2020, painting herself as a victim of cancel culture while dismissing the lived experiences of trans people.
Since then, she’s become less "beloved children's novelist" and more "TERF Twitter queen," using her platform to bankroll anti-trans policies and troll anyone who dares criticize her. And she has a lot of critics outside of Pascal from Harry Potter stars to Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan, and recently, RuPaul Drag Race reigning queen Jinx Monsoon.
With 14.3 million followers, Pascal quickly became a target for Rowling dementors, I mean defenders, in claiming that he’s trying “to bully a woman into silence” (spoiler: he didn’t) and bad-faith arguments of being “too touchy” (another spoiler: coworkers seem cool with it) by posting nefarious photos of Pedro canoodling with co-stars like Vanessa Kirby during the Fantastic Four press tour.
The implication? That his affection must be performative, manipulative, or worse, nonconsensual.
Kirby, who played Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four, shut down that narrative in a Vanity Fair article:
“What happened is we were both incredibly nervous going out in front of thousands of people who love this comic. He wanted me to know that we were in this together, and I found it a lovely gesture and was very glad to squeeze his hand back.”
She also pointed out Pascal’s greatest strength: “his immense vulnerability.”
Cue a million heart eye emojis!
Meanwhile, let’s not forget that Pascal is equally affectionate with his male co-stars, from Narcos to Gladiator II, which makes the selective outrage from the pretend-to-be-well-meaning misogynists all the more transparent.
The latest wave of nonsense rolled in after Pascal posted about Sand Mama, a short film by his best friend Catherine Loerke. Trolls, presumably powered by Rowling-flavored rage, swarmed the comments with an overly-used Sergeant James Doakes GIF from Showtime's Dexter, throwing side-eyes and judgment like they caught him red-handed.
Not today, trolls.
Instead of ignoring them, Pascal pulled out his snark saber and clapped back directly. No publicist-approved statement. No angry subtweets. Just Pascal, in the comments, handing out emojis and one-liners with the elegance of a man who knows he’s too old for this BS—but still petty enough to participate.
You can view the original post and Pascal’s comments below:

This isn’t just about Pascal being absurdly charming (though, let’s be honest—he is) or appearing in every summer blockbuster under the sun. It’s about what real celebrity allyship to the LGBTQ community should look like: loud, proud, and backed by action, not just tweets.
Pascal doesn’t shy away from the backlash; he meets it head-on, even if it means diving straight into the troll-infested depths of his own comments section.
Turning 50 last April, Pascal is also reflective and humble about the strange, sometimes uncomfortable attention that comes with fame.
As he told Vanity Fair:
“Fifty felt more vulnerable—much more vulnerable… What a silly thing for a 50-year-old man—to have all this attention! This is such shadow-voice shit, you know what I mean?”
Yes, Pedro. We do. And we love you for saying it out loud.
With more attention ahead—he’s set to reprise his role as Reed Richards in Avengers: Doomsday and return to the Star Wars universe in The Mandalorian and Grogu—you can bet the scrutiny (and the shade) will only intensify.
And naturally, Pascal’s fans responded the only way they know how: with a flood of heart emojis, memes, and gloriously petty replies aimed right back at the trolls.

Want to see what started the most elegant Instashade spree in 2025?
Sand Mama is a dramatic five-minute short film by Catherine Loerke, Pascal’s BFF, about a disillusioned mother making a life-changing decision during a family beach trip. It stars Tony Award-winner Miriam Silverman and is available to stream now on YouTube.
And if you do read the video comments, you’ll find a whole lot of love—fans showing up with heart emojis, kind words, and gratitude for Pedro supporting his friends.Keep ReadingShow less
