Ye Just Spent $850k On New Titanium Dentures—And Everyone Is Making The Same Joke

The rapper paid a pretty penny to get the metal dentures that adhere to his teeth—but the internet thinks they just look like gum wrappers.

Ye just revealed his brand new $850,000 titanium dentures on social media, and people online all seemed to have the same thought.

The rapper showcased his new metal on his Instagram stories accompanied by a Google search screenshot of the James Bond villain Jaws, whose similar dental work appeared to be an inspiration.

The image of Ye's new look soon went viral, with some claiming that the fashion designer had his teeth removed and replaced with the new dentistry...

...but that is not the case.

Dentist Thomas Connelly, who worked with Ye on the procedure, confirmed to Complex that the grills comprised of titanium, palladium, platinum and other precious metals were put in place through a procedure called fixed prosthodontics in which the dentures are fixed to his teeth.

Connelly assured:

"He did not have his teeth removed."
"He still has a full dentition. Healthy and happy."

Surprisingly, though, the possibility that Ye had his teeth removed wasn't the reason his photo went viral.

Instead, it was because the image immediately made people think of their childhood pastime of making homemade braces and grills with aluminum foil and gum wrappers.

Yep, "back in our day..." you could get two and a half sets of dentures for merely a quarter.

Or you could have gone with a classic Reynolds Wrap grill.

Either way, the jokes didn't quit.

Cook took over from Steve Jobs and reshaped Apple by leaning on his operations expertise. He streamlined and expanded global supply chains, introduced Apple-designed chips, and pushed the company beyond hardware into services, launching subscription offerings like Apple News, Apple TV+, and Apple Pay, which have since become major revenue drivers.
