Woman Kicks Out Guests Who Brought Their Children To Her Wedding—And A Lot Of Brides Are Agreeing

There are lines you should not cross, and most know that 'ticking off the bride on her wedding day' is a big one.

Yet that's what a guest did when she ignored the bride's request that her wedding reception be child-free.

The anonymous bride took to Reddit to explain the situation.

In a subreddit where you anonymously ask objective strangers if you were in the wrong, she tells how she made it clear that there were to be no children at the wedding. While she did have a flower girl, and there were a few other children who had to be there as part of the wedding party, it was understood they would all be gone by the reception.

However, a family friend brought their kids to the reception.

The bride explains in her post:

"My event planner went to talk to the couple. I could tell they were arguing with my event planner though so I went over to help him. I think they thought I came to rescue them because they started going on about how rude my event planner was."
"I explained that I had actually sent him over to discuss the children. I reiterated that the event was child-free and said that I had stated so clearly on my invitations."

This seemed pretty clear cut to the people who responded.

"they gambled with the 'if we do x there's no way they'll have the guts to do z' card and lost...absolutely NOT TA!!"

- ImThatMelanin
"If you let them stay then other irate parents could approach you demanding to know why their snowflakes were not allowed. The parents were way out of line."

- JanuarySoCold
"If the invitations stated that this event was not to have children present then they are the assholes for disregarding the rules set in place without approval from you or your husband."

- Ashby497

After trying to discuss things with the couple, the respective husbands started getting aggressive in their disagreement, and the bride had enough.

"Finally I snapped and said that they just needed to go, which, thankfully they did without much more noise."

Most people agreed the bride was not the problem here.

Though not quite everyone could say the same.

"ESH people make a waaay too big a fuss over their wedding day. Like it has to be some sort of perfect fairy tale. Marrying the one you love ought to be te fairy tale."

"Weddings are like funerals, they're more for the attending family than for the subject themselves."

- panzercampingwagen

"YTA. Kicking someone out of your wedding if they aren't bothering anyone is rude."

- animauix2

The post became so popular, the moderators had to lock it, a rarity on that subreddit. Because of its popularity and being shared to news outlets, they didn't feel the post needed more comments.

The bride is thankful for the comments of support saying,

"Anyway the feedback here has helped me not to feel guilty about that and just realize that not everyone has the same ideas about tact and manners."

While it's a little too late for this wedding, hopefully people learn to respect the wishes of the couple being married.

Trump Lashes Out After 'Train Wreck' Elon Musk Announces He's Creating New Political Party

President Donald Trump attacked his former ally Elon Musk in a post on Truth Social after the tech billionaire announced over the weekend that he's creating a new political party called the "America Party" amid their ongoing feud.

Musk has made clear that he vehemently opposes the president's One Big Beautiful Bill—and will work to unseat any Republicans who've supported it, saying they've "voted for the biggest debt increase in history." He founded the new political party on July 5, the day after Trump signed the legislation, which adds roughly $3.3 trillion to the national debt.

Geoengineering is a term for large-scale to planetary-scale interventions in the Earth's atmosphere, oceans, and soils to counteract some of the effects of climate change. There are no large-scale geoengineering programs in the United States as of 2025.
