Trump Mocks Losing GOP Candidate With Bizarre 'I Want To Be Loved!' Post—And No One Knows What He's Talking About

After Mazi Pilip lost the NY-03 special election to Tom Suozzi on Tuesday, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to mock her loss, and got roasted for a bizarrely personal admission.

Former President Donald Trump was mocked for his response to Republican candidate Mazi Pilip's loss to Democrat Tom Suozzi in New York's special election yesterday, oddly declaring in a post admonishing her that he wants "to be loved!"

Trump's post on Truth Social was reflective of his anger after Suozzi won a special election in New York to replace former House Republican George Santos, who was expelled from Congress amid controversy over fabricating his life story and was indicted on multiple charges including campaign finance fraud.

Suozzi's triumph signifies his return to Washington, having previously served three terms representing the district before an unsuccessful gubernatorial bid prompted him to step away. The duration of his upcoming tenure on Capitol Hill remains uncertain, given the ongoing redistricting process that might reshape the district.

Nonetheless, the current outcome trims the already slender Republican majority in the House, offering Democrats a crucial victory in New York City's Queens and Long Island suburbs. The victory represents a 16-point swing toward the Democrats since Santos' 2022 victory, a major shift in the all-important suburbs where Republicans had begun to make gains.

Trump wrote the following post criticizing Pilip for what he perceives as a lack of loyalty on her part:

"Republicans just don’t learn, but maybe she was still a Democrat?"
"I have an almost 99% Endorsement Success Rate in Primaries, and a very good number in the General Elections, as well, but just watched this very foolish woman, Mazi Melesa Pilip, running in a race where she didn’t endorse me and tried to ‘straddle the fence,’ when she would have easily WON if she understood anything about MODERN DAY politics in America.”
“MAGA, WHICH IS MOST OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, STAYED HOME – AND IT ALWAYS WILL, UNLESS IT IS TREATED WITH THE RESPECT THAT IT DESERVES."

He concluded with the following oddly personal declaration:

“I STAYED OUT OF THE RACE, ‘I WANT TO BE LOVED!’ GIVE US A REAL CANDIDATE IN THE DISTRICT FOR NOVEMBER. SUOZZI, I KNOW HIM WELL, CAN BE EASILY BEATEN!”

Trump's post proved so perplexing that one CNN reporter even said, "I'm not sure what that 'I want to be loved' in quotes is" on the air.

Trump's post was swiftly mocked, with many viewing it as further evidence of his narcissism.

Once Suozzi is sworn in, he will reduce the Republicans' already slim majority to a paper-thin 219-213.

Both Democrats and Republicans will have another opportunity to compete for the congressional seat in the upcoming November general election, although the dynamics of the battleground may undergo changes.

This shift is anticipated due to an impending redrawing of the state's congressional districts mandated by a recent court order. Given the Democratic dominance in state government, expectations are high that Democrats will aim to create more favorable district lines for their candidates.

People Share Their Most Embarrassing Small Town Stories

I lived most of my life in a very small town in Northern Maine. There were about 200 kids in my high school and there were 56 kids in my graduating class—we were tied with the class of 1961 for the largest class ever.

When the primary employer in town—Pinkham Lumber Mill—shut down, the town got even smaller. Now the senior class is considered large if it reaches double digits.
