Fruit Roll-Ups' Legal Team Just Debunked A TikTok Trend Claiming The Plastic Wrapper Is Edible

A member of Fruit Roll-Ups' social media team took to TikTok to prove that you can't actually eat the plastic wrapper after freezing the classic treat.

Fruit Roll-Ups are a staple of any kid's diet. And apparently some adults as well.

After a TikToker recently claimed that the plastic wrapped around the fruit leather was edible after spending time in the freezer, the snack brand urged users on TikTok not to consume the plastic.

The clip is one of many TikToks circulating online that show inventive ways to enjoy the popular food.

#stitch with @hollyberry09 legal is making me clarify that you should not attempt to eat plastic #fruitrollup

People were pretty sure the legal team put them up to this.

The brand replied extensively in the comments.

Surely, though, it was just for the lawyers.

In fact, many people commented that this is probably the company trying to prevent another Tide Pods trend, you know, when Gen Z ate Tide Pods as part of a viral social media challenge?

Other brands got in on the viral TikTok.

However, many people noted that the original poster was probably faking the video and not eating plastic.

It's for the views.

However, someone noted that Fruit Roll-Ups' video did achieve one thing: making them buy the product again.

But seriously, isn't it a bit harsh when a snack company has to reply to your video?

@fairyshadow/Tiktok

Please don't eat plastic—but if this makes you re-interested in Fruit Roll-Ups, you won't be alone.

People Who Woke Up From A Coma Describe What It Really Felt Like

Anytime a character on a TV show or movie goes into a coma, it's generally because of an extreme accident or health concern. Monitoring that person, anticipating their waking up, and the waking process is always highly suspenseful and a major plot point.

But for those who have experienced a coma in real life state that being in a coma is much quieter and more surreal than on-screen portrayals would suggest.

Frito-Lay truck crash sparks jokes!

Crescent City is famous for coastal views, historic lighthouses, and now—apparently—a Frito-Lay truck that tried to audition for The Fast and the Furious: Snack Drift.

Last week in California, a truck loaded with chips yeeted itself more than 100 feet into a creek along the Smith River in Crescent City on State Route 199—the notoriously dramatic highway between Crescent City and Grants Pass, Oregon—known for hairpin turns, cliffs with no chill, and canyon drops that look like Mario Kart designed them after three Red Bulls.
