Twitter Is Seething Over A Memphis Teacher Who Only Allows Students To Leave For The Bathroom Twice A Month

Twitter Is Seething Over A Memphis Teacher Who Only Allows Students To Leave For The Bathroom Twice A Month

Twitter is outraged once again. This time, it's over a teacher restricting the amount of time students ask for hall passes to use the restroom, visit the nurse, or get water.

A parent of a student in the 8th grade at The Aspire School district set off a massive controversy when she posted a note her middle school child had to sign. In the note the teacher lets the teenagers know that they will only be able to use hall passes twice a month for going to the nurse, getting water, or using the restroom.

In the note, the teacher jokingly acknowledges she is "petty" but that the rule will still stand.

The Aspire School district is investigating claims that a teacher is limiting the number of times a student can leave class for things like bathroom or nurse visits.

Parents and Twitter users were all kinds of pissed and ready for some serious confrontation.

There was also lots of reflecting on past traumas and projection into future mishaps.

Some Twitter usesr thought maybe the pitchforks and torches could be put away.

But people were not having it and there were lots of "I would" to make that clear.

Superintendent Dr. Nickalous Manning gave the following statement:

On August 29, 2018, it was discovered that 8th grade students at Hanley Middle School were given a document restricting bathroom and nurse visits that was inconsistent with our school's actual policies, our mission, and our values. We are currently reviewing the circumstances under which the document was prepared and distributed to students.

Please know the safety and care of our students is always our first priority. It is important that students know we respect them and are responsive to their needs.

To reinforce these values, we convened our full team today to review all relevant policies and procedures. We will continue to work with our teachers and staff to ensure all school policies and values are consistently maintained in each classroom.

Still it wasn't enough. People want their justice!

Let's hope this teacher learned a valuable lesson.

People In Long-Term Relationships Explain The Things No One Tells You About

None of us can look into the future and scan everything that will ever happen to us, so there's really no telling exactly what will happen at that job, during that vacation, or throughout that relationship.

But at least on the last point, there are some things that tend to come up in long-term relationships and marriages that brand new love birds might not see coming.

Working Mom Gets Emotional After Realizing She's Missing All Her Baby's Major Milestones

Anyone who has raised children or is regularly around children can attest that they truly do grow up so fast.

That's what makes it so hard for new parents to go back to work after having a baby. It's not necessarily balancing the new responsibilities of parenthood with their preexisting responsibilities as a working adult, in an office and at home. It's the fact that they're going to miss out on some of the first moments and milestones with their children, which they can't ever get back.
