Pro-Trump Rep. Called Out for Hypocrisy After Saying Biden Is 'Unfit' for Ripping Fox Reporter on Hot Mic

Pro-Trump Rep. Called Out for Hypocrisy After Saying Biden Is 'Unfit' for Ripping Fox Reporter on Hot Mic
Fox News

President Joe Biden had an awkward moment this past week after delivering remarks about inflation and prescription drug prices.

As White House correspondents were ushered out of the East Room, Peter Doocy of the conservative Fox News network sked Biden if "inflation" was a liabiity going into the 2022 midterms.

Biden sarcastically responded that inflation was an "asset" before saying under his breath that Doocy was a "stupid son of a b***h." Unfortunately for Biden, the mic was still hot and his comments were heard clear as a bell.

Within an hour later, Biden personally called Doocy to apologize, while Doocy acknowledged the challenges facing the administration before calling on Fox viewers to "move on" from the incident.

Presidential doctor-turned-Republican Representative Ronny Jackson of Texas, however, hasn't moved on. In fact, in recent remarks on Fox News, Jackson said that Biden's profanity was evidence that he's unfit for the presidency.

Watch below.

Jackson said of Biden's comment:

"It's completely unprofessional. It's embarrassing. I've seen this multiple times with people of the President's age that are starting to have cognitive issues. They get short-tempered, they get irritable, they strike out as a defense mechanism to some extent when they don't know exactly how to answer questions or what's going on around them. He's got cognitive issues. He's not fit to be our head of state or our commander in chief."

Jackson's claims that Biden's moment of short-temper indicates unfitness for the presidency is an apparent reversal of his previous positions. Former President Donald Trump, whom Jackson wholeheartedly supports, was infamous not only for his short fuse, but for his constant angry berating of reporters. Yet—as White House physician—Ronny Jackson praised Trump, who is only three years younger than Trump, for his cognitive agility.

Jackson said in 2018 following Trump's cognitive test:

“I can reliably say, and I think that the folks in the mental health [field] would back me up on the fact that if he had some kind of mental, cognitive issue, that this test is sensitive enough, it would have picked up on it. He would not have got 30 out of 30 ... And my personal experience is that he has absolutely no cognitive or mental issues whatsoever.”

People detected some hypocrisy in Jackson's dueling claims.

Some even referred to Jackson with the same insult as Biden did Doocy.

Jackson resigned as White House physician in 2018 before Trump tapped him to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs. Jackson eventually withdrew himself from consideration after the Defense Department inspector general found Jackson had made inappropriate sexual comments and bullied his staff.
