Netflix's The Irishman, directed by Martin Scorsese, is enjoying massive success.

The three hour epic scored nine Academy Award nominations along with countless other accolades.

It even just got a shoutout during a historic moment in Congress.

As House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) argued to send articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate—a culmination of months of impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives—the Speaker hearkened back to a quote from Trump's infamous phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As the two leaders discussed congressionally approved aid to Ukraine, Trump said that he'd like Zelensky to "do us a favor though."

The conversation then turned to the investigations Trump wanted Ukraine to announce, including investigations into Trump's potential 2020 rival, former Vice President Joe Biden and into conspiracy theories regarding Ukraine's role in 2016 election interference.

Pelosi said:

"'Do me a favor?' Do you paint houses too? What is this? 'Do me a favor.'"
Watch below.

In the mafia drama The Irishman, "painting houses" is code for being a contract killer, like Robert De Niro's hitman character in the film.

The Trump administration has frequently been compared to a mob operation, especially with recent revelations that associates of the President's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, were stalking a U.S. ambassador, hoping to remove her and pave the way for using military aid as leverage to spur investigations.

Lev Parnas and GOP congressional candidate Robert Hyde—the two who discussed Yovanovitch's movements—have both dismissed the texts, saying that Hyde was just drunk and not to be taken seriously.

The Ukrainian government has since launched an investigation into the possible efforts to track Yovanovitch. The State Department in the U.S. has yet to comment on any of these developments.

Despite the sinister tactics employed by Trump allies and mobsters alike, Pelosi's allusion still took people by surprise.

But the Speaker is far from the first to draw similarities between the Trump administration and the mob.

Hopefully the truth isn't sleeping with the fishes just yet.

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage" during President-elect Donald Trump's rally at New York City's Madison Square Garden last month, is apologizing “to absolutely nobody."

Hinchcliffe’s remarks at the rally quickly ignited a media uproar and bipartisan criticism, with some speculating that the controversy might hurt Trump’s support among Puerto Rican communities in key battleground states. However, Trump ultimately gained traction with Latino voters on Election Day, securing all seven swing states.
