Martha Stewart is pretty well known for being uncomfortably close to controversy. From a felony charge from insider stock trading to being best friends with Snoop Dogg, it’s difficult to imagine a world where Stewart was just the friendly lady on TV.

But she was, and her simple recipes and easy home styling tips used to be the talk of the town.

Lately, her recipes shared to social media can still carry the same panache, but sometimes they aren’t quite what people would expect.

Like a delicious looking stew that is somehow recommended for children.

As the post says:

“Kids are sure to spoon this stew up.”

This seems a little optimistic, considering the picture includes rather large chunks of corn on the cob.

While many adults thought it looked great to make for themselves, parents knew better. Kids can be notoriously picky and a fish stew that gets some of its flavor from clam juice may not be their favorite choice.

It looks great, Martha Stewart, but parents are saying “no.”

Stewart has made some missteps before. Some of her strange offerings include a lettuce or maybe cabbage dish that didn’t have the best lighting and made people less than enthused to eat.

The fish stew actually looks really good, and it’s fairly simple to make. However there was another sticking point for people.

While the recipe says you can strip them from the cob for little ones, the original version calls for large chunks of corn in the dish.

Which left many commenters wondering how you eat that.

We’re sure Stewart can understand the parental concern over the recipe, and all these comments are in good fun. And if she really doesn’t like it, she’s shown she has no problem calling people out for their wrong assumptions.
