Right-wing talk show host Megyn Kelly was criticized after she revealed she not only supports the Department of Defense's attacks on alleged drug-smuggling vessels in the Caribbean but wants anyone aboard these boats to "suffer," even saying that she hopes they "lose a limb and bleed out" slowly.
Kelly spoke after a Washington Post investigation published last week alleging that in September Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth directed a U.S. strike unit to eliminate everyone aboard a single vessel. According to the report, after two people were later spotted alive in the wreckage, commanders authorized a follow-up “double tap” strike to ensure their deaths.
In the aftermath of that initial strike, the Trump administration formally informed Congress that the United States was engaged in what it called a “non-international armed conflict” with unnamed “designated terrorist organizations.” Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have accused Hegseth of committing war crimes.
Kelly discussed the scandal on the latest episode of The Megyn Kelly Show during an interview with Mark Halperin, saying it was “kind of annoying to even debate" the legality of Hegseth's actions when he had denied that he personally ordered the second strike.
While she said U.S. troops "should not commit war crimes," she alleged the criticism was “only being done to retroactively justify” a video recently released by several Democratic members of Congress who are also former veterans that urged troops not to obey any unlawful orders.
She then got really sadistic:
“That’s how it feels to me, so I’m really not that into it. Nor do I really care that we’re killing the drug boat guys trying to kill my kids and yours right now by bringing their fentanyl to the United States, to try to get our kids when they go to college with, you know, some drug in some moment of weakness where they think they’re taking a Xanax.”
"So I really do kind of not only want to see them killed in the water, whether they’re on the boat or in the water, but I’d really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so that they lose a limb and bleed out a little."
"Like I’m really having a difficult time ginning up sympathy for these guys who ten seconds earlier almost got taken out by the initial bomb, but because they managed to get ejected, you know, a little too soon, had to be taken out in the water. I realize legally it may make a difference, but truly, Mark, this is a tough case to really gin up the sympathies of the American people."
Kelly's remarks were harshly condemned.
Kelly recently generated controversy for attempting to downplay the pedophilia of the late financier, sex trafficker, and proven pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, saying he was merely "into the barely legal type."
Commenting on a release from House Oversight Committee Democrats that includes emails like one Epstein sent his associate Ghislaine Maxwell saying Trump spent time with a trafficking victim and another in which Epstein told a reporter that Trump "knew about the girls," Kelly questioned whether Epstein, whose history of pedophilia goes back decades, was actually a pedophile.
At one point, she said:
"Like, he liked 15-year-old girls. And I realize this is disgusting. I'm definitely not trying to make an excuse for this."
"I'm just giving you facts, that he wasn't into, like, 8-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby." ...
"Yeah, so I don't know what's true about him, but we have yet to see anybody come forward and say I was under 10, I was under 14 when I first came within his purview. You can say that's a distinction without a difference. I think there is a difference. There's a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?"
Kelly's remarks sparked outrage, particularly from those who pointed out she is defending a known pedophile and sex trafficker despite having a teenage daughter herself.
This year’s NFL Super Bowl is shaping up to be a music lover’s dream. Bad Bunny, Coco Jones, Brandi Carlile, and Charlie Puth are all set to perform. But somehow, amid all the excitement, conservative commentator Link Lauren decided his next political crusade would be… vocally gatekeeping Charlie Puth.
On Monday, Lauren logged onto X and questioned the NFL’s decision to have the 34-year-old Puth sing the National Anthem.
He wrote:
“Man we’ve fallen from when Whitney Houston sang at the Super Bowl. Charlie Puth? He’s not gonna give us vocals I’m afraid.”
A bold claim from a man whose own musical résumé includes a handful of TikTok-era singles and about 6,000 monthly Spotify listeners—which is adorable, but maybe not the basis for critiquing a stadium performance.
And for those blissfully unaware, Lauren—sometimes referred to as “MAGA Malfoy”—has built his brand on influencer content, culture-war commentary, and a brief stint as a senior advisor to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s short-lived presidential campaign. None of this screams “resident expert on live performance,” but the internet rarely checks credentials before having opinions.
Puth, who is an actual Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer behind TikTok montage hits like See You Again, Attention, Left and Right, and We Don’t Talk Anymore, decided he wasn’t going to let Lauren’s critique float by unchallenged.
His clapback was worth all the snaps:
“I’ll never claim to be as good of a singer as Whitney Houston ever was. But I assure you we’re putting a really special arrangement together- in D major. It’ll be one of my best vocal performances.”
You can view his post below:
Let’s pause for a moment. Whitney Houston’s Super Bowl performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" remains one of the greatest vocal displays in modern history. No one has topped it, and no one is pretending they will.
Houston was 27 when she performed at Super Bowl XXV, already the first artist in history with seven consecutive singles to go to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. That was before the peaks and valleys of the second half of her career, which only makes the achievement more jaw-dropping.
And just in case you need a reminder, you can watch the iconic performance below:

So, calm down, Link. We can enjoy more than one singer at a time.
Not wanting to lose the last word, Lauren responded with a follow-up message, insisting he didn’t mean to shade Puth—despite very obviously shading Puth.
Lauren wrote:
“Can’t wait! 👀 I wish you nothing but success, but just miss our big belting divas like Whitney. What an era. Make sure they know it’s D major and not b minor. Cheers Char! 🤝🥂”
A note to Lauren: Correcting a Grammy-nominated producer on keys is a choice. A loud choice. An incorrect choice at that, sir.
The back-and-forth unfolded just as the NFL confirmed that Puth will perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl LX, which takes place Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Coco Jones will perform Lift Every Voice and Sing, and Brandi Carlile will sing America the Beautiful.
The League is clearly going for powerhouse voices and respected musicians, a category Charlie Puth easily fits in, even if certain political commentators are confused about that.
Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation, praised the lineup in a statement:
“Charlie, Brandi, and Coco are generational talents, and we are honored to have them—alongside our extraordinary deaf performers—on Super Bowl LX’s world stage. This moment embodies the very best of culture, live performance, and our country, perfectly kicking off game day.”
And social media handed Puth his flowers along with subtle reminders that Link Lauren picked the wrong singer to critique:
While critics online debated Puth’s vocal abilities, Puth celebrated the announcement in the most Charlie Puth way possible: by posting a comedy-leaning video where he explains to football players why "The Star-Spangled Banner" is notorious for its difficulty. Posted two days ago, he breaks down the song’s leaps, high notes, and melodic traps.
In the caption, he wrote:
“I can’t believe I’m saying this… I will be performing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LX.”
By the final seconds of the clip, well, you can hear his own take on the anthem:
Whose house? It’s obviously Puth’s house.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny remains set to headline the halftime show, joining the long list of superstar performers who have taken the Super Bowl stage: Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Madonna, Shakira, Usher, and Kendrick Lamar among them.
So yes, the 2026 Super Bowl lineup is stacked to the nines. And when Charlie Puth starts singing, the only thing falling will be Link Lauren’s confidence in ever questioning a man with perfect pitch.
For a lot of people, 2025 has been a tough year for a variety of reasons, and we could all use something to look forward to.
So when tennis legend Serena Williams officially re-entered the International Tennis Integrity Agency's (ITIA) registered testing pool—from which players are randomly selected to be tested for doping—fans were quick to dream that she might be planning a return to the court.
Just hours after Williams was confirmed on the list, the news spread on social media, especially Twitter (X).
This was exactly the kind of news tennis fans needed at the end of a tough year.
Unfortunately, Williams shut down the rumors, insisting that a comeback was not going to happen.
"Omg yall I'm NOT coming back. This wildfire is crazy."
Some fans were understandably heartbroken to see their dreams shot down.
Since exiting the ITIA in 2022, Williams has been open about how she wants to focus on her family and loved ones, being a mother, and transforming her relationship with her body.
Williams reflected during an interview with PORTER on December 1:
"I want to bring in more clarity, confidence that I made the right decisions and that you don't always have to live only for your children. I'm discovering me again."
"[Participating] does affect you mentally. You think you're large for your whole life, and you look [back] and you're like, 'I was fit.'"
"I had big muscles. I didn't look like these other girls, but not everyone looks the same."
"It was hard because when I was playing in the beginning, the first 15 years, my body was different. I had big boobs; I had a big butt. Every athlete was super-flat, super-thin, and beautiful, but in a different way."
Fans aren't the only ones who miss seeing her play. Her sister Venus expressed similar hopes for a return:
"I keep saying to my team, 'The only thing that would make this better is if she [Serena] was here,' like we always did everything together, so of course, I miss her."
"But if she comes back, I'm sure she'll let y'all know."
Despite Williams dismissing the rumors, some still hope she got back into the testing pool to compete with her sister.
Maybe we'll learn more about why Williams reentered the pool, because if one thing is for certain, she has never been known for doing something for no reason. Sure, we might just be dreaming, but it's entertaining.
President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he appeared to doze off during his own Cabinet meeting as members of the Cabinet openly praised him on Tuesday.
At one point, Trump closed his eyes for several seconds as Secretary of State Marco Rubio described him as "the only leader in the world who can help end" wars and "the million things going on in the world that we have to focus on as a country."
You can see the moment in the video below.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Trump while launching into a defense of Trump's remarks that Somali immigrants do not belong in Minnesota, claiming to reporters:
“President Trump was listening attentively and running the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting. Just go back and watch his amazing final answer in the press conference, where he ripped into the America-Last Democrats for allowing radical Somali migrants to invade our country and steal from American taxpayers."
"This epic moment put an exclamation point on President Trump’s ninth Cabinet meeting of his second term—all of which have been entirely open to the press for the whole world to see."
"In all of these historic meetings, the president and his incredible team highlight the exhaustive list of accomplishments they have delivered on behalf of the American people to Make America Great Again.”
But no one was buying that—not when there are already so many concerns about Trump's cognitive decline while in office.
Keep in mind that Trump appeared visibly worn a day after unleashing an overnight barrage on Truth Social, where he fired off more than 160 posts over a five-hour stretch between 7 p.m. and midnight on Monday, December 1.
After just a few hours off the platform, he resumed posting again early Tuesday morning at 5:48 a.m., which begs the question—when is he actually resting?
Trump was swiftly mocked.
Over the summer, Leavitt was mocked for her claim that there is no "harder working President" than Trump.
At the time, Leavitt said Trump "is working around the clock, he hardly ever sleeps, he's constantly thinking not just about the problems in our country here but around this world and how to solve them."
Oklahoma Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin also wasn't fooling anyone when he shared photos of himself and Trump allegedly "working through the weekend." The photos he shared included one of Trump with a slew of different papers splayed across his desk that turned out to be printouts of Trump's Truth Social posts.
In October, Trump also appeared to fall asleep during a White House roundtable about Antifa, which the administration recently designated a "domestic terror organization" even though it's not an organization at all. California Governor Gavin Newsom joked he thought that a video of a dozing Trump "was a still image when I first started watching."
Fans of Full House and of Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone on the show, have been on a roller coaster in the past year, following Coulier along on his cancer treatment journey after he revealed that he'd been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and later deemed cancer-free.
Now, unfortunately, the journey continues, as Coulier revealed during an interview with TODAY after Thanksgiving weekend that just seven months after being declared cancer-free, he's since been diagnosed with a "P16 squamous carcinoma," which is a form of cancer that concentrates in the head and neck, and in Coulier's case, in his tongue.
Coulier shared:
"So in October of this year, I went in for a PET scan, just a routine check-up, and something flared on the PET scan."
"It turned out that I have P16 squamous carcinoma at the base of my tongue."
"So I said to the doctors, I said, ‘Well, did this happen because of the lymphoma?’"
"And they said, ‘Totally unrelated.’ Totally unrelated to the previous cancer that I had."
Just like his Gladstone character, Coulier is facing this diagnosis with nervousness but also gratitude, specifically because the prognosis is good since his cancer was discovered early.
Coulier explained in a positive tone:
"[The] prognosis is very good for P16 squamous carcinoma."
"So it has a 90+ curability rate. But the thing that has really saved my life, Craig, is that early detection saved my life, not just the first time but the second time as well."
"So I hope you’re getting your check-ups. I hope your colonoscopies, breast exams, and prostate exams. They will save your life."
Coulier has lost three family members to breast cancer, including his mother, his sister at the age of 39, and his niece at the age of 29. This has encouraged him to stay strong during his treatments and to remain vigilant about being scanned for new symptoms, while encouraging the people around him to do the same.
Viewers were grateful that Coulier was advocating for early detection and wished him well.

It's heartbreaking that Coulier has to receive treatment again—for an unrelated, unexpected cancer, no less. Fortunately for him, his cancer was detected early both times, so his treatments were efficient and swift.
If you have the medical resources, it's important to stay on top of your medical scans to allow as few things to go undetected as possible.
