The L.A. Times Tried To Make A Ranking Of Fast Food Fries And People Have A Lot Of Feelings About It

Lucas Kwan Peterson is a food columnist in Los Angeles. At great personal risk to his own reputation, he decided to undertake a gargantuan task: ranking the 19 most popular LA fast food french fries. The internet, of course, had some very strong feelings about his opinions.

As soon as Peterson's ranking hit the LA Times, people were in an uproar:

Among his most unpopular picks was putting In-N-Out's burger's dead last—sacrilege among any good Los Angeles resident. He wrote of In-N-Out's fries:

"In-N-Out is always crazy busy so the fries are fresh, at the very least. But they're also bland, crumbly little matchsticks that aren't improved by any amount of ketchup, salt, cheese, or salad dressing you want to add to them."

The top three fries Peterson tried? Five Guys, McDonald's, and Del Taco, in that order.

In a divisive age of big opinions, the superiority of certain french fries is no exception.

Anyone bold enough to rank a city's fries is simply asking for judgement.

Fortunately, there were some people who actually agreed with Peterson's analysis:

Several prominent LA residents, like LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and writer Matthew D'Ambrosio also offered their takes:

What are truly the best fries in LA? Does anyone know? Will we ever know? There are some questions simply too large for humanity.

GOP Senator's Claim About How Trump Won't Screw Over Americans With His Iran Deal Instantly Ages Like Milk

Nebraska Republican Senator Deb Fischer was widely mocked after criticizing how Democrats' previous attempts at securing peace with Iran resulted in the U.S. sending "pallets of cash" to the country, only to be proven wrong almost immediately following President Donald Trump's deal with Iran.

The Trump administration and Iran reached a preliminary agreement on Sunday aimed at ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. While both sides have digitally signed the accord, many details remain unresolved.
