Rejoice, Kevin Smith fans!

Jay and Silent Bob are back for 2019 and this time it's for-real-for-real: pre-production has already started, according to Variety!

After being introduced in Smith's first film, 1994's Clerks, the iconic 90s stoners—played by Smith himself and actor Jason Mewes—have appeared in nearly all of his movies, popping up in Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and 2006's Clerks 2.

Smith announced on Twitter how he and producer (and Jason Mewes' spouse!) Jordan Monsanto spent their New Year's Day: starting work on the new Jay and Silent Bob chapter!

Smith first dangled the idea of the movie way back in August of 2017, but the film was delayed after Smith suffered a heart attack in Feburary 2018, during a stand-up set.

He told fans at the time that the medical incident was something of a brush with death—if he'd not canceled his second show that night to go to the hospital, he likely wouldn't have made it.

Since then, Smith has focused on his health, dropped more than 50 pounds, and is now back and better than ever from the sounds of it! On Twitter, he referenced his difficult 2018, calling it "the year that almost killed me," but seems committed to making 2019 all about his iconic characters.

On social media, Smith fans were effusively all-in for the return of Smith and his iconic duo.

With several even appealing to Smith for spots on the crew!

So what will the new flick be about?

Smith has described the film as:

"... a tongue-in-cheek, silly-ass satire that pokes fun at the movie business's recent re-do obsession, featuring an all-star cast of cameos and familiar faces."

Sounds like the perfect way for Smith to get back in the game and welcome back two iconic characters!

In an overuse of free will and dark humor, 26-year-old Leon Gillespie was arrested and charged a £200 fine for appearing as the Grim Reaper on the roof of the Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital in St. Asaph, Denbighshire.

Though Gillespie attempted to plead that he had appeared as a black "crow" on the roof of the hospital, the judge at Llandudno Magistrates in North Wales wasn't convinced, as the costume included a hood and a long blade, looking like the standard Grim Reaper with its scythe.
