President Donald Trump has only doubled down in his refusal to accept the reality that President-elect Joe Biden defeated him in the 2020 election with 306 electoral votes. Biden also dwarfed Trump in the popular vote, earning over six million more votes than the incumbent opponent.
The President has responded by tweeting a weeks-long barrage of lies and conspiracy theories about widespread voter fraud, of which there is no evidence.
Faced with the unenviable task of legitimizing these lies in court is the President's legal team, led by Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis.
The pair held a "hearing" at a Hyatt Regency hotel in Arizona on Monday and put forth so-called witnesses who aired their suspicions of voter fraud.
As the hearing was happening, the state of Arizona certified its election results declaring Biden the winner of the state, which hadn't gone blue since 1996.
Ellis reacted to the news on Twitter.
The certification of Arizona's FALSE results is unethical and knowingly participating in the corruption that has disenfranchised AZ voters.
BUT, this in no way impacts the state legislature's ability to take back the proper selection of delegates.

She decried the certification as "unethical" but assured that the Republican state legislature could appoint Trump-loyal electors to subvert the people's vote.
They do not, in fact, have the power to do this.
The Arizona state legislature cannot convene without two-thirds support of members from each chamber, which would require the acquiescence of Democrats to achieve.
What's more, Arizona law requires electors to cast electoral votes for the candidate who won the majority of the state's votes. That candidate is President-elect Biden.
Ellis' latest lie only generated more mockery.
It must suck when people of your own party claim that there was no fraud involved at all, but you insist there must be just because you lost. https://t.co/cczgKIomJA

Had I known 40 years ago that elections are actually just suggestions, I might have approached several campaigns a bit differently. #Arizona https://t.co/BMOxwSQXWY

How's the Elite StrikeOut Force doing after yet another loss? Your only value is duping the President and further exposing his insanity to the Nation. Much appreciated. https://t.co/p51skvqFsS

This latest statement—coupled with her weeks-long efforts to undo the election on baseless and fraudulent claims—called the legitimacy of Ellis' law license into question.
I'm beginning to think you aren't a serious lawyer and Liberty isn't a real university.

Joe Biden will be president longer than you keep your law license

Just for the record, everything in this tweet is a lie and Jenna Ellis should have multiple bar complaints for her false unethical statements. She's either uniformed or incompetent to make that statement about the legislature. I'm going to go with incompetent. https://t.co/B46bMfUIDN

Ellis' tweet comes just after she was ridiculed for making similar claims about the election certification in Michigan.
