Jen Psaki Expertly Fires Back at Reporter Who Claims 'Americans' Are Questioning Biden's Immigration Policy

Jen Psaki Expertly Fires Back at Reporter Who Claims 'Americans' Are Questioning Biden's Immigration Policy

Former President Donald Trump may have been banned from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and a host of other platforms, but that hasn't stopped the former President from continuing to spew his lies about the new administration of President Joe Biden.

Such was the case on Friday, when Trump released a statement slamming Biden's immigration policy for not being harsh enough.

Trump wrote:

"Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden. Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration. A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute."

Biden's White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about the statement by a correspondent who attributed Trump's statement to "some Americans."

It didn't go well.

Watch below.

When the reporter eventually divulged that the sentiment came from Trump, Psaki responded:

"We don't take our advice or counsel from former President Trump on immigration policy, which was not only inhumane but ineffective over the last four years. We're going to chart our own path forward and that includes treating children with humanity and respect and ensuring they're safe when they cross our borders."

Much of Biden's immigration reform has yet to materialize. Some Democrats have expressed frustration at the administration's reopening of a child detention facility closed by Trump after widespread backlash, though Psaki said the decision was reached out of a concern for pandemic safety procedures.

Biden attempted to put a 100 day moratorium on new deportations, though Immigrations and Customs Enforcement is bypassing it through litigation.

Regardless, people praised Psaki's assurance that the new administration doesn't value Trump's immigration stances.

The reporter, CBS News' Weijia Jiang, was a frequent challenger of Trump during his tenure in office, but people took issue with her deference to his stance on this question.

For now, the Biden administration seems unfazed by Trump's opinions.

Trump Adviser Gets Epic Reminder After Claiming The Left Went After Him Like They Did Charlie Kirk

President Donald Trump's senior counselor Peter Navarro was swiftly fact-checked after claiming during a CNBC interview that Democrats sent him to prison as a political attack, asserting that leftists went after him how "they got" Charlie Kirk, the far-right activist who was assassinated last week.

Navarro, who also served during Trump's first administration and participated in attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 general election, holds the distinction of being the first former White House official imprisoned on a contempt-of-Congress conviction.

Kari Lake Slammed After Warning Parents Not To Send Their Kids To College After Charlie Kirk Murder

Speaking during a memorial service for far-right activist Charlie Kirk at the Kennedy Center, failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake—now the Trump administration's Senior Advisor for the U.S. Agency for Global Media—called U.S. colleges “indoctrination camps” and urged parents not to send their children.

Lake ignored the fact that Kirk was killed while speaking at a college, in this case Utah Valley University (UVU), the largest university by enrollment in Utah.

Vice President JD Vance served as host of the late far-right activist Charlie Kirk's podcast this week and was called out after claiming Kirk "never uttered" words about the "brain processing power" of Black women—even though Kirk said as much in 2023.

Vance made the claim after Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah—a Black woman—said she was dismissed from the paper following social media posts on gun control and race after Kirk’s assassination.
