The singer sounded off on the rapper at a Grammys after-party for performing at the inauguration of President Trump.

Singer Janelle Monáe called out rapper Nelly at a Grammys after-party for performing at the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

Nelly, along with artists like Jason Aldean and Billy Ray Cyrus, performed at the Liberty Ball following the inauguration. Before taking the stage, Nelly attended the Commander in Chief Ball.

According to a source, Nelly spent the evening taking photos with military officers and expressing gratitude for their service. The source previously told Fox News Digital that the rapper, who was born on a military base, has several family members who served in the military, a connection he acknowledged during his performance.

Footage obtained by TMZ shows Janelle Monáe performing Nelly's hit "Hot in Herre" at a Grammy Awards after-party on Sunday, where she called the rapper a “fool” and urged him to “get a new attitude."

She said:

"I used to like Nelly, but then he went to perform for Donald Trump. I care about women, I care about Hispanics. I care about gay people. F**k you, Nelly. You sold out."
“I used to think he was cool, but now you look like a motherf**king fool… F**k you, n***a. Get a new attitude… I might be a little tipsy but I know everything I’m motherfucking saying. F**k you, Nelly!”

You can hear what she said in the video below.

Many applauded her remarks.

Monáe's criticism comes weeks after Nelly defended his decision to perform at the presidential inauguration event, stating that he would have agreed to play regardless of the winner, including ex-Vice President Kamala Harris or now former President Joe Biden.

In a podcast interview, he said it is "an honor for me to perform for the President of the United States, regardless of who is in office.”

Monae previously endorsed Harris, saying Trump is "a hateful person and he wants the rest of the world to exhibit that behavior and that is dangerous."
