HOA Sparks Debate After Sending Letter Telling People Not To Hand Out Full-Size Candy Bars On Halloween
X user @MuffinsNsuch shared a letter that they received from their community HOA with some weird demands regarding this year's Halloween trick-or-treat night. Apparently, the neighborhood's HOA was worried about families being pressured to purchase full-sized candy bars to distribute to the children of the neighborhood, and that some children might miss out on the households distributing the full-sized options.
However, according to one community member, the price of the candy bars shouldn't really inconvenience a family too much.
The letter reads:
"I hope this letter finds you well. As we approach the Halloween season, the Board has been discussing ways to create a consistent and positive experience for the children in our community who go trick-or-treating."
"This year, the Association is encouraging all residents to hand out fun-size candy bars only."
"We are asking that full-size candy bars not be distributed."
"This request is intended to help keep the experience consistent throughout the neighborhood and to avoid situations where some homes feel pressure to match larger offerings."
"We appreciate your cooperation with this request and thank you for helping make Halloween enjoyable for the families in our community."

The X user questioned:
"My HOA sent me a letter requesting that I stop handing out full-size candy bars for Halloween this year."
"Fun-size bars are usually 15–25¢ each."
"Full-size are around 75¢–$1."
"Most people give out two or three fun-size anyway, so the real difference is often only a few cents per kid."
"Am I crazy, or is it weird for an HOA to police this?"

Fellow X users immediately pushed back on the idea of not being able to distribute full-sized candy bars.
It's understandable that the HOA would want to make sure that all families can participate if they wish, but from what the X user pointed out, the price of the bars might not be that big of a problem.
Also, a family shouldn't feel pressure to give out full-size candy bars if it's out of their budget, nor should they be made to feel bad for being unable to afford to do so.
And if a family simply doesn't want to participate in trick-or-treating at all, that's a perfectly valid choice too—porch lights turn on and off for a reason!
College President Goes Above And Beyond To Help Student Prank Her Chronically Oversleeping Roommate
During one of their discussions about Lapier's early bird struggles, Lapier joked with LoScalzo about getting the university president involved, but she had no idea that her roommate would actually take her seriously.
Around 10:30PM that night, LoScalzo sent an email to President Tromp and explained her friend's struggles and shared her idea for how she could help. To LoScalzo's surprise, the president responded early the next morning, declaring that she was in.
That morning, President Tromp showed up at their dorm and quietly walked into Lapier's room, saying sweetly:
"It's time to wake up, sleepyhead!"
Despite having just woken up, Lapier immediately recognized Tromp and realized that LoScalzo had taken her seriously. She covered her face in a mixture of laughter and embarrassment.
Tromp also came bearing gifts. One bag was full of breakfast bagels, while the other was a gift for Lapier: an upscale alarm clock in the university's colors of gold and green.
While she was there, Tromp took a few pictures with the young women from the dorm and then went about her other university duties.

The video went viral, and Tromp was actually at a doctor's appointment when she found out that she was in a viral video.
The university president was tickled by it, as well as the opportunity to interact with her students.
“I walked into the exam room, the nurse turned to me and said, ‘Did you know you’re going viral on TikTok?’”
“I think it actually captures our community so profoundly."
"We’re such a community where the students look out for each other; I think students get something really special here.”
She also said later in the clip that her favorite part of her job is interacting with her students and helping to make their lives better, so when she got that email, she jumped at the chance to help.

This is one of those situations where taking a little time out of your day can make such a huge difference in someone else's life, especially when you're a university president that your students look up to.
There's a good reason President Marlene Tromp is president at that university, and it goes far beyond an alarm clock.

First of all, she described the guy as stoned and "high as a motherfreaking kite," which is not a great place to start.
Throughout the date, many weird things happened, including the guy staring incessantly at a group of beautiful women gathered around the table next to theirs, admitting that he peed in his sink at home, and claiming to never wash his hair with shampoo or conditioner.
The guy even demanded that Vega smell his hair while shoving his "dirty hair into my face" after making claims about his showering practices.
The date got so bad that Vega even went so far as to ask the guy if he was even interested in her at all or if he found her to be "appalling to him" just to try to get a measure of his commitment to the date.
But the date ended very quickly. The two only had one drink each, with Vega rushing through hers, and no mention of a follow-up meeting.
While she recorded the video, she was recounting the date while walking through the city, on the way to "eat her feelings" at a local pizza place.

Some dates simply are not meant to be, but this is one of those situations where it's questionable why the date happened at all. If the guy was so uninterested that he behaved like this, there was no reason to even schedule the date. Or if he was nervous and reacted this way to try to cope with his feelings, that's a whole other issue.
Hopefully this is the worst first date the TikToker will ever go on.

Unfortunately for the former Walmart employee, all of his horror stories from his life behind-the-scenes as a Walmart sales associate could not fit into one video.

The TikToker cut the series off at three parts, though he insists that he has many more stories he could share, because now he wants to give space to other former employees to submit their stories for him to share on his platform, particularly raising awareness for those who were abused in some way while on the clock and didn't receive any sort of support.
We can all agree that retail can be hard work, but apparently you never know what you're going to see when you're working the floor, particularly at a Walmart.
