Teacher Blows Students' Minds By Creating 'Millennial Museum' With Their Parents' Help

There are countless amazing teachers in the world, but there are some out there who just "get it."
History teacher and TikToker Malinda Nichols doesn't just teach history—she immerses her students in the worlds of different decades, generations, and historical events through costumes, decorations, fun facts, interactive activities, and the occasional party.
In the past months, Nicols has created immersive decade studies for the students to explore, including a '60s day to highlight that "Boomers weren't always out-of-touch old people."
Most recently, she collaborated with fellow elder Millennials and Gen Xers, the parents of the Gen Alpha students in her classroom, and put together a "Millennial Museum" for the students to explore.
Nichols and the parents gathered up various Millennial artifacts, from appliances found in the home like a rotary phone to fun toys that passed the time, like Nintendo GameBoys and Furbies. Beanie Babies even made an appearance!
Some of the parents even visited during the event to demonstrate how to use different game systems, electronics, and home appliances, and they answered questions, like how they used to make plans with their friends before texting was an option, or what songs and commercial jingles from their childhoods they still get stuck in their heads sometimes.

The students proved to be so invested in the experience, imagining the fun days of the '90s and the era their parents grew up in, that Nicols included a few other activities after the museum, like watching the beloved family film Casper.

Especially with how we're all presented on social media, it's easy to "other" each other and imagine each decade as completely different, separate, and unable to get along. But through explorative exercises like this, it's easier to imagine how someone else grew up, what life was like for them, and what they might actually have in common with the person looking at their memories.
Ms. Nichols has made printouts available to make it easier for other teachers to curate similar museums, and hopefully more Gen Alphas—and beyond—will be able to experience the fun of Millennials and other generations.

Of course, we were most likely being dramatic, as whatever the circumstances, we could eventually bounce back from them with the passage of time.
This doesn't mean that some people's lives have not been genuinely, sometimes irrevocably, ruined.

According to a 2023 survey reported by the National Institute of Health, 34.9 million surgical and nonsurgical "aesthetic procedures" were performed by plastic surgeons worldwide. The cosmetic surgery and procedure global market garnered an estimated $127.1 billion that year.
The top five surgical procedures were liposuction, breast augmentation (implants, removals, and reductions), eyelid surgery (the top procedure in most of Asia), tummy tucks, and nose jobs. The five most popular nonsurgical procedures were botox, hyaluronic acid fillers, hair removal, chemical peels, and nonsurgical fat reduction.
But are all of these procedures safe? Are there any procedures doctors don't or won't recommend?

Which of these items would you guess would make it past airport security: a bag of sunflower seeds or a rotisserie chicken?
If you guessed sunflower seeds, you would be wrong.
One woman managed to board a plane with an entire rotisserie chicken, and she was able to eat the entire thing on her folded-down tray table during the flight.
But Grey's Anatomy's Dr. Meredith Grey, Ellen Pompeo, tried to board with an unopened, new bag of sunflower seeds from Erewhon, and was delayed for over an hour—and inspected by a bomb squad.
During an interview with Travel + Leisure, the actress dished about the problematic snack.
“I had a bag of sunflower seeds, like organic sunflower seeds from Erewhon, so they were probably the most expensive sunflower seeds money can buy."
But those working in the security check line were committed to checking the seeds. Maybe too committed.
"They literally held me for an hour, and they brought the bomb squad in."
"I was like, ‘What is happening? Is this a joke?’"
"They said it was most likely a chemical on the packaging of these super expensive, fancy, organic, clean sunflower seeds. My protein on the plane!"
Pompeo was understandably flabbergasted by how the incident played out.

Pompeo was able to catch her flight just in time, so she didn't have to change her plans. She might find herself depending on the airline's supply of snacks from now on, just to get through the security checkpoint a little bit faster.

Pop Star Jessie J Tells Fans She's 'Going To Disappear For A Bit' After Revealing Cancer Diagnosis

British pop star Jessie J shared some unfortunate news with her loved ones and fans in a post on Instagram recently.
A Grammy-nominated singer with a catalog going back to 2011's hit Domino, she said she had been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, and announced that she would be out of public life for awhile while undergoing treatment, including surgery.
She said sharing things had helped her weather storms in the past.
“I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard."
"I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I’m an open book."
The timing of her diagnosis was notable. In 2025, she has been following a carefully planned release calendar, with her song "No Secrets" dropping just over a month ago.
Right around the same time was her diagnosis, with her planning appearances around tests and doctors' appointments. Her next song to be released, she noted, will be "Living My Best Life."
Regarding a cancer diagnosis between those two titles, she said, "I mean you can't make it up."
She joked in the caption of her post:
"Is it too soon to do a remix called ‘Living my breast life’?"
