MTG Gets Blunt Reminder After She Shames Texas Resort For Flying LGBTQ+ Pride Flag

The MAGA Rep. said 'shame on you' to the Gaylord Texas Resort & Convention Center, which was hosting a Turning Point USA conference, for displaying the Pride flag alongside the American flag and Texas state flag.

Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene found herself embroiled in a Twitter storm after expressing her disapproval of an LGBTQ+ Pride flag displayed outside the Gaylord Texas Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

Greene's remarks came during her speech at a conference organized by the right-wing college group Turning Point USA.

Taking offense at the LGBTQ flag flying alongside the American flag and the Texas state flag, Greene launched into a tirade criticizing its presence. Known for her history of homophobic rants, she expressed her disdain for what she perceived as a focus on people's sexual orientations dictating the display of flags.

You can hear what she said in the video below.

Greene said:

“Shame on them. Shame on them. Shame on them for hanging that flag out there. Shame on them."
"Because it shouldn’t be about what people do sexually that causes us to hang a flag somewhere.”
“The only flags that should ever be hung are our United States flag and a state flag, so shame on the Gaylord. I’m surprised one of y’all hasn’t shimmied up that flag pole yet and taken it down.”

Greene's comments drew swift backlash from critics who accused her of hypocrisy, highlighting her support for individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection who proudly displayed Trump and Confederate flags during the attack.

Twitter users were quick to point out the inconsistency of her stance.

They questioned how she could denounce the display of the rainbow flag while overlooking the presence of divisive symbols associated with the attack on the United States Capitol.

As society progresses towards greater inclusivity, challenges persist in confronting prejudice and promoting a more tolerant and diverse society.

The Gaylord Texas Resort & Convention Center has not publicly responded to Greene's comments or the controversy surrounding the rainbow flag display.

The incident, however, highlights the ongoing struggle for acceptance and equality faced by LGBTQ individuals, even in public spaces.

Trump Gives Mind-Numbing Reason For Why He Voted By Mail-In Ballot After Railing Against It

Although he regularly claims mail-in ballots are used by Democrats to rig elections, President Donald Trump was called out for voting by mail in Florida's election on Tuesday—and saying it's okay that he did it because he's the "president."

Palm Beach County records show that Trump cast a mail-in ballot earlier this week in the special election for Florida’s House District 87, the district that includes his Mar-a-Lago residence. He also voted by mail in the January primary for the same race.
