Uprisings occurred across the nation this week in response to the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man in Minnesota, by police.

Numerous demonstrators protested in front of the White House last weekend as the anger at Floyd's murder reached a boiling point. Given the state of national unrest and the destruction in the capital city, the President reportedly took refuge in the White House bunker with the first lady and their son, out of fear for the protestors.

The mockery was swift, and in response to the coverage, White House sources said the President's dismay at the coverage is what led him to forcefully clear out peaceful protestors in order to take a photo in front of Saint John's Episcopal Church.

On Wednesday, in a Fox News radio interview with Brian Kilmeade, the President attempted to dismiss the coverage of him hiding in the bunker.

Listen below.

Responding to the coverage, Trump said:

"It was a false report...I went down during the day, and I was there for a tiny, little short period of time, and it was much more for an inspection. There was no problem during the day."

He continued to say that he only goes down to the bunker for an inspection and only during the day.

"There was never a problem. We never had a problem. Nobody ever came close to giving us a problem."

The President went on to say that he's been to the bunker "two and a half" times.

It may not come as a surprise to learn that people don't believe him.

Despite Trump's claims, the bunker infamy isn't going anywhere.

Yikes.
