Why do you have torture us like this, Buzzfeed? Won't the craziness of Season 8 of Game of Thrones be whiplash enough for our poor hearts?

No matter: The media publisher has a bracket tournament going for who fans think will survive the hit HBO series' final season.

If you've seen Game of Thrones, you know the cardinal rule: Don't get too attached to anyone, because chances are they'll a chilling and horrible death at the hands of one (or several) of the people on this show who are struggling to defend their allegiances to one warring faction or another.

The first question from Buzzfeed: Samwell Tarly or Brienne of Tarth?

Most of you would say Brienne, right?

Well, you'd be right, but she only won this poll by a rather thin margin.

Next up: Gilly or Tyrion Lannister?

It seems way more people believe Gilly will kick the bucket. Perhaps the White Walkers will get her?

The

The Mountain vs. Samuel Tarly. Should be... easy, right?

Not. The Mountain's gonna bite it, sorry.

Ser Beric... or Gilly (again)?

Sorry, Ser Beric.

Grey Worm? Or Gendry?

But what about Missandei?!

The Hound or Arya? They sort of respect each other now, right? Right?

Sorry, Hound. It appears an overwhelming majority believes Arya will make it to the end of the series.

This one should be more difficult to guess, hopefully.

Sorry, Lord Varys. You have to go.

Melisandre or... Do we need to finish this one?

The night is dark and full of terrors.

Theon? Or Jon Snow?

Oh, Theon. We appreciated you as both Theon and Reek. And we apologize.

Tormund or Podrick?

It could go either way, honestly.

There's bound to be more in the coming days (the show returns on April 14) but fans are rather divided for now. No one wants to see a favorite character go, but they already know the drill.

Until then, Valar morghulis.
