In a lengthy interview with Paper, lead singer of Panic! At The Disco Brendon Urie said that he identifies as pansexual.

Urie has been married to Sarah Orzechowski since 2013, and commented:

I'm married to a woman and I'm very much in love with her but I'm not opposed to a man because to me, I like a person.

To Urie, a person's gender matters far less than the content of their character:

Yeah I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don't care. If a person is great, then a person is great. I just like good people, if your heart's in the right place. I'm definitely attracted to men. It's just people that I am attracted to.

To commemorate the end of PRIDE month, Urie donated to $1 million to GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) to help fund "gender and sexuality clubs" in U.S. high schools.

In a statement, Urie said:

For years my fans have inspired me with their determination and creativity as they have created a safe and inclusive community. I felt the time had come for me to join them boldly, to bring that energy and power to bear on the huge challenges facing our whole society.

He continued:

Some of the most inspiring leaders out there right now have come from GSAs. Working firsthand with GLSEN, student leaders everywhere, and all my fans, I want to make sure that every one of our future leaders out there has the support they need to form their own GSA and begin their work to make a better world.

Though this is the first time Urie has publicly identified as pansexual, he's long been an admired figure in the LGBTQ community, with his song "Girls/Girls/Boys," often held up as a bisexual anthem. Though the singer didn't intend for the song to have a grander purpose beyond telling the story of his first threesome, he's glad fans were able to find meaning in it:

Taking this thing that I wrote about and then changing it to be more inspiring for your own purposes, what a beautiful idea.

Fans online have been extremely supportive!

Trump Ripped After Making Surreal Boast During Medal Of Freedom Ceremony For Charlie Kirk

President Donald Trump was widely criticized after he openly boasted about surviving an assassination attempt while honoring late far-right activist Charlie Kirk—who was assassinated last month at an event at Utah Valley University—with the Presidential Medal of Freedom earlier this week.

Trump was injured in an assassination attempt at a July 2024 campaign event by a gunman who was shot and killed by the Secret Service. The shooting ultimately claimed the life of one man and injured two others. The phrase “Fight! Fight! Fight!”—shouted by Trump in the immediate aftermath—has since become a rallying cry among his supporters.
