William Barr Slams Trump for His Tweets About the Stone Case, But People Think They Know What's Really Going On

William Barr Slams Trump for His Tweets About the Stone Case, But People Think They Know What's Really Going On
ABC News

People cried foul earlier this week when the Justice Department overrode four career prosecutors to recommend a reduced sentence for former Trump campaign advisor Roger Stone.

The Department's decision came only a day after Trump railed against the prosecutors' recommendation on Twitter, leading many to believe the Department reduced the sentence recommendation because the President interceded on his ally's behalf.

All four prosecutors on the case resigned in response to the change.

Attorney General William Barr gave an interview to ABC News where he criticized the President's tweet.

Watch below.

Barr said:

"I'm not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody, and I said, whether it's Congress, newspaper editorial board, or the president, I'm going to do what I think is right. I cannot do my job here at the Department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me."

But before you expect Barr to go the way of Jeff Sessions, John Kelly, James Mattis, Omarosa Manigault-Newman, and others, you may not want to hold your breath.

Barr's Justice Department is currently arguing that the President can't even be investigated for a crime. He's proven his loyalty to Trump time and time again.

Which is part of the reason people think this is all an act.

Barr will testify before the House Judiciary Committee at the end of next month.

AOC Has Mic Drop Response To MAGA Republicans Who Try To Mock 'Democratic Priorities'

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued a powerful rebuke against President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, pointing out why mocking things like affordable housing and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as "Democrat priorities" ultimately hurts Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez, speaking during a CNN town hall alongside Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, accused Republicans of refusing to work to end the government shutdown, stressing that the country’s health care system could collapse if Republicans refuse to meet Democrats’ demands in negotiations.

GOP Rep. Blames Coordinated 'Ruse' After Swastika Image Is Seen Displayed In His Office

Ohio Republican Representative Dave Taylor demanded an investigation after a swastika image was found on display in his Washington, D.C., office, and blamed it on a "targeted" "ruse."

Politico obtained a photo from a virtual meeting showing a distorted image of the American flag—its red and white lines altered into the shape of a swastika— pinned to what appears to be a cubicle wall behind Angelo Elia, a staffer for Taylor. Beside it hung a pocket Constitution and a congressional calendar. Elia’s involvement in the incident, if any, remains unclear.
