Voting In 2016 Versus Voting In 2018 Has Gotten The Meme Treatment—And It's Accurate AF

Voting In 2016 Versus Voting In 2018 Has Gotten The Meme Treatment—And It's Accurate AF

You may have noticed it's sort of a difficult time in America!

For many of us, we're just hanging on by a thread. President Trump keeps doing crazy stuff and people keep saying crazy things and other people keep doing crazy things (mostly with guns) and every day feels increasingly like a scene from a horror movie. And for most of us (despite what the President's team may claim), the midterm elections seem like our only hope of cutting off our country's slide into... god knows what, at the pass before it's too late, and we are all marching into our voting booths like Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Contrast that with how we felt in 2016. It was all feminism and glass ceilings shattering forevermore! We went into those voting booths, pantsuits cinched just so, singing that accursed "Fight Song" ditty Hillary had made her campaign trademark, ready to change the world!

And then we went home and by like 8:00 it was like "LOLJK AMERICA HERE'S YOUR NEW BLOVIATING ORANGE FASCIST PREZ BYE" and it's all been downhill from there. We've cried, we've lost sleep, some of us (I'm not naming any names but IT'S ME) have gained approximately 487 pounds from stress-eating, it's just been a mess!

And now here we are at the reckoning: the 2018 midterms. But thankfully, as it so often does, the internet has swooped in to commiserate! Enter the "Me Voting in 2016 vs. Me Voting in 2018" meme, which perfectly captures the "OMFG AYFKM WTF" zeitgeist of this "moment." To wit:

Thanks, internet! Here's hoping that by 2020, we're not making memes where the second panel is just, like, Sissy Spacek covered in blood in Carrie or something... Oh wait, I guess we're already there:

PLEASE GO VOTE TODAY EVERYONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!

Comedian and Price is Right host Drew Carey sounded off on people who plan to vote for or endorse Spencer Pratt—the former reality TV star of The Hills—for mayor of Los Angeles, calling Pratt "some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass."

Pratt announced his mayoral campaign roughly a year after his home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades wildfire. The White House Is Getting Dragged Hard After Bragging About Trump's 'Perfect' Physical

Following President Donald Trump's latest physical examination, the White House was called out for using its official X account to gloat about his "perfect bill of health."

Trump, who turns 80 next month, said on social media yesterday that “everything checked out PERFECTLY” following the fourth publicly-disclosed medical examination of his second term. It was not immediately clear whether the White House would release detailed findings from the president’s physician to back up the claim or specify what tests were included.
